Otoscopy-assisted intranasal cyst marsupialization for congenital dacryocystocele
We describe 3 infants with congenital dacryocystocele resistant to conservative treatment who were treated with a novel, simple intranasal cyst marsupialization (ICM) technique. Otoscopy-guided ICM was performed by an otolaryngologist in the manner of otoscopic myringotomy for cases with nasal cyst distension. All 3 infants were treated successfully by a single surgical procedure under topical anesthesia in an office setting. (Source: Journal of AAPOS)

Successful Antiviral Treatment for Chronic Adenoiditis Caused by Herpes Virus in a Pediatric Patient: A Case Report
CONCLUSIONS Direct visualization of the postnasal space, with a transoral mirror or 120-degree endoscope, prior to adenoidectomy can aid diagnosis. Adenoiditis may be caused by a wide range of organisms, including herpes virus. Active mucopurulent discharge should raise concern for infection by bacteria, fungi, or virus. Previous research on viral infection of the adenoids have been in asymptomatic patients with presumed latent infection and undergoing elective adenoidectomy. A scoping review of the management of acute mastoiditis in children: What is the best approach?
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, there is no shared consensus on the diagnostic or therapeutic approach to mastoiditis. Conservative therapy has gained considerable ground in recent times, quite limiting the predominant role of mastoidectomy.
