Comparison of Cryotherapy Performed With Ice or Gel and Superficial Skin Cooling of Older Women: A Randomized, Crossover, Clinical Trial
CONCLUSION: This study of older women found that ice and gel cooled the skin more effectively than ice wrapped in towels. However, the gel pack had some adverse effects. Therefore, bagged ice is recommended for cryotherapy in older women.PMID:38502943 | DOI:10.1519/JPT.0000000000000412 (Source: Health Physics)

Conservative non-pharmacological treatments for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathies in women treated for breast cancer: a systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: There is still controversial evidence on conservative non-pharmacological interventions for the management of CIPN symptoms. We believe however that moderate exercise, as well as all types of stress reducing activities like sport, yoga and mindfulness, should be encouraged in cancer patients for their positive effect on global physical and psychological health. Further studies of higher methodological quality are needed to determine the best conservative approach to CIPN.PMID:38502556 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.24.08197-8 (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

Evidence-informed and consensus-based statements about SAFEty of Physical Agent Modalities Practice in physiotherapy and rehabilitation medicine (SAFE PAMP): a national Delphi of healthcare scientific societies
Conclusions The resulting consensus-based statements inform patients, healthcare professionals and policy-makers regarding the safe application of PAMs in physiotherapy and rehabilitation practice. Future research is needed to extend this consensus on paediatric and frail populations, such as immunocompromised patients. (Source: BMJ Open)

Nadir prostate-specific antigen after salvage cryotherapy as a potential prognostic factor for oncologic outcomes
ConclusionSCT is a feasible rescue alternative for the local recurrence of PCa. Achieving an nPSA  <  0.5 ng/ml after SCT is associated with higher long-term BRFS, AFS and MFS rates. (Source: World Journal of Urology)

Milia en plaque on the shoulder as an early manifestations of mycosis fungoides
Milia en plaque (MEP) is an uncommon skin condition identified as retroauricular confluent milium by Boulzer and Fouqet in 1903 [1]. It can be mistaken for other dermatoses like Favre-Racouchot nodular elastosis, steatocystoma multiplex, and nevus comedonicus. Milia en plaque can either be primary or secondary and is typically benign, often triggered by dermatological procedures like cryotherapy, as reported in this journal. In some cases, MEP can arise as a secondary manifestation of other diseases, including folliculotropic mycosis fungoides (FMF). Despite this association, there are few documented cases in the literatur...

Assessment of Ingrown Toenails Treated with Nail Fold Cryotherapy in Adolescent Patients: An Observational Pilot Study
CONCLUSIONS: Nail fold cryotherapy is a useful alternative among conservative methods because of its rapid and high efficiency (91.7%), especially in mild to moderate cases, despite the high recurrence rates (45.5%) in juvenile IGTN.PMID:38446556 | DOI:10.7547/21-177 (Source: Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association)
