Effect of whole-body cryotherapy versus placebo cryotherapy on joint pain induced by aromatase inhibitors in women with early stage breast cancer: a randomised clinical trial
Introduction Hormone therapy (HT) is a major adjuvant treatment for breast cancer. Despite their effectiveness, aromatase inhibitors can cause several side effects, including arthralgia in 35%–50% of patients. These side effects frequently lead to the premature discontinuation of HT. Whole-body cryotherapy (WBC) can be used for managing arthritic pain. The primary objective of this study will be to evaluate the effect of WBC on aromatase-induced joint pain, compared with placebo cryotherapy, in patients with hormone-dependent breast cancer receiving adjuvant aromatase inhibitors. The secondary objectives will be to e...

Randomized adaptive selection trial of cryotherapy, compression therapy, and placebo to prevent taxane-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with breast cancer
ConclusionCompression therapy was the most effective intervention in this phase IIB selection trial to prevent CIPN and was well tolerated. Compression therapy for the prevention of CIPN should be evaluated in a phase III study.Clinical trial registrationClinicaTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03873272. Molluscum contagiosum survey - common approach and attitude towards treatment and research in Dutch general practice
CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrated that the majority of GPs preferred a conservative approach, adhering to current guidelines. However, most parents preferred treatment to resolve MC and symptoms. Parents' willingness to participate was much higher than GP's, reflecting parents' desire for treatment. These findings underscore the need for continued therapeutic research. Careful preparation and selection of GPs and patients will be essential to ensure the feasibility of such an endeavor.TRIAL REGISTRATION: This survey study was not part of a clinical trial.PMID:38057771 | DOI:10.1186/s12875-023-02226-y (Source: Primary Care)

Cryosurgery and 5-Fluorouracil Combination Therapy for Treatment of Bowen's Disease and Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma
CONCLUSION: Cryosurgery followed by immediate 5-FU use may be an effective mode of treatment for BD and sBCC, negating the need for invasive procedures and allowing for increased accessibility. Further studies with longer follow-up intervals, comparisons with other non-invasive treatments, and evidence of histologic cure are required.
