Do I really need an EHR to be HIPAA compliant?
I feel like this should be an easy question to answer but I'm struggling to find a clear answer. I am launching a private practice soon and would love to be able to keep notes on my computer in password-protected Word docs. According to HIPAA though, it seems like for digital notes, we are supposed to use an EHR with back-up capabilities and means of locking notes so they become unalterable. My question is, is that rule specifically for people who use EHRs or does it apply to everyone who...

Pharmacy vs. Linguistics/Computer Science
Hi, I am a second year who is on the pre-pharmacy track, and I was advised by my counselor to possibly explore linguistics & computer science as a major. Initially I thought Chemistry would be good, but she told me that considering I'm already taking Chem classes that it wouldn't be a good idea. I told her Computer Science might be interesting, but math isn't my strong suit so that's how we decided on Ling/CS. Honestly, I worry because what if Ling/CS doesn't prove to be beneficial to my...

All Day Study Chair
I sit for hours at my desk reading books, watching lecture videos, taking practice exams. The usual M2 stuff.
As I spend more time cheek to chair I realize I could really do with an upgrade (especially with dedicated around the corner).
Anyone have recommendations for an awesome study setup?
A roller chair, lazy boy, or anything they really enjoy?
Would love to hear what you are all using. Currently I use a pretty generic $50 roller computer chair from like the late 90s. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I need some advice after taking my DAT
Hi, I really need advice. I just took my DAT in July. I was super nervous as this was my first time and I had been studying since about 5 months ago. I planned on applying this cycle 22-23 once I took my DAT but I don't think I can anymore. I also got sick a couple days before the exam as well as my period starting the day before my DAT exam. I also noticed that the computer is very glitchy so it took a while to load the questions in the testing site so I couldn't get through all of the...

GRE at home?
Hi! I've been debating on whether or not I wanted to take the GRE at home or travel 2 hours to a testing center :') I've been told that there have been a lot of students had their scores canceled because they looked away from their computer screen during the test? Not sure if that's true but I was hoping someone could give me their experience! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Radiology to Anesthesiology
Hi everyone, this is an odd post but pls allow it. Unbiased and honest opinions are super appreciated.
I’m an R2 (PGY-3) in radiology. I’ve been having buyer’s remorse for a bit and it has not improved, unfortunately. While the job market is great once one is done with residency, I have a hard time envisioning myself working in solitude on a computer for endless hours for the rest of my life. I want a little more human interaction. IR is an option but it’s also a brutal specialty. I’ve...
