Perinatal Risk Factors in Relation to Asthma and Allergic Rhinitis in Children and Adolescents
CONCLUSION: The risks for allergic rhinitis and asthma were higher in male patients delivered by cesarean section and with a family history of allergy. By contrast, exclusive and long duration (>6 months) breastfeeding and the presence of sibling(s) reduced the risk of developing respiratory allergic disease.PMID:38584131 | DOI:10.21053/ceo.2024.00024 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology)

Effect of intraoperative dexmedetomidine on recovery of gastrointestinal function after caesarean section undergoing spinal and epidural anesthesia: A randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial
CONCLUSION: Intraoperative dexmedetomidine infusion reduces the time to first flatus, the incidence of abdominal distension, and shortens the length of hospital stay, promoting gastrointestinal function after cesarean section.PMID:38574697 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2024.03.038 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Double-Filtration Plasmapheresis and High-Dose Intravenous Immunoglobulin Therapy in a Case of Anti-M Alloimmunization
AJP Rep 2024; 14: e101-e105 DOI: 10.1055/s-0043-1777995Hemolytic disease is a common cause of fetal morbidity and mortality. The anti-M blood cell alloantibodies are one of the most severe causes of fetal anemia and intrauterine death. Since no standard treatment method has been established for pregnant women, the management of this pathology is through conventional methods used for treating Rh blood-type alloimmunization. For the first time, we report a unique case wherein a pregnant woman who had intrauterine fetal death in two previous pregnancies with very low titers of anti-M antibodies had negative effects during ver...

Advances in Treating Cesarean Scar Pregnancy: A Comprehensive Review of Techniques, Clinical Outcomes, and Fertility Preservation
Med Sci Monit. 2024 Apr 3;30:e943550. doi: 10.12659/MSM.943550.ABSTRACTCesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a rare but potentially dangerous condition that occurs when an embryo implants and develops within the scar tissue from a previous cesarean section. Treatment of cesarean scar pregnancy depends on several factors, including the gestational age of the pregnancy, the presence of complications, and the individual patient's circumstances. We performed a systematic review of the published literature on management of cesarean scar pregnancy and the outcomes, complications, and effects on fertility. A systematic review of recen...
