Ultrasound-guided retrograde tibial access through chronically occluded tibial arteries: a last resort recanalization technique
CONCLUSION US-guided retrograde access through completely occluded tibial arteries is difficult but feasible. Half of the tibial arteries that could not be recanalized otherwise were converted to successful recanalization by this method.PMID:36550764 | DOI:10.5152/dir.2022.21844 (Source: Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology)

178 The LRRC8 ion channel as novel drug target for psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by hyperproliferation and aberrant keratinocyte differentiation. Since newer findings suggested that cell volume changes drive cellular differentiation, it is of medical interest to better understand cell volume regulation in healthy and pathological conditions. Hence, the aim of our study was to identify the ion channels involved in epidermal cell volume regulation and to evaluate their suitability as novel drug targets in psoriasis. 202 The importance of LRRC8 ion channel in keratinocyte differentiation
Epidermal regeneration relies on a balance between keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation. Both processes are accompanied by cell volume changes. The anion channel LRRC8 mediates cell volume regulation upon hypotonic stress in keratinocytes and its essential subunit LRRC8A is mainly expressed in the basal, transient amplifying cell population of the human epidermis. In vitro differentiation experiments of primary keratinocytes confirmed these findings, as LRRC8A is upregulated during the onset of differentiation leading to a bell-shaped expression pattern. Endovascular treatment of Buerger's disease in patients with critical limb ischaemia
CONCLUSION: Controversy has continued on the role of ET in the treatment of TAO. This study shows that ET of TAO had promising primary and secondary patency rates with high technical success and limb-salvage rates.PMID:35789369 | DOI:10.5830/CVJA-2022-018 (Source: Cardiovascular Journal of Africa)
