Staged Breast Reconstruction Utilizing Primary Nipple Repositioning Surgery Prior to Nipple Sparing Mastectomy
Staged nipple sparing mastectomy (NSM) following mastopexy or breast reduction has become increasingly utilized in patients with large or ptotic breasts. The safety and efficacy of this approach has been demonstrated in recent years. However, the optimal timing between stages has not been established. The authors provide their experience with this staged approach with emphasis on timing between stages. An institutional reviewed board approved retrospective study was performed on all patients at a single institution who underwent staged NSM following mastopexy or reduction mammaplasty for therapeutic or prophylactic oncolog...

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 497: Breast Cancer in the Tissue of the Contralateral Breast Reduction
Shan Qiu Breast cancer is the most prevalent malignancy among women worldwide, and the increasing number of survivors is due to advances in early diagnosis and treatment efficacy. Consequently, the risk of developing contralateral breast cancer (CBC) among these survivors has become a concern. While surgical intervention with lumpectomy is a widely used primary approach for breast cancer, post-operative breast asymmetry is a potential concern. Many women opt for symmetrizing reduction procedures to improve aesthetic outcomes and quality of life. However, despite careful radiological screening, there is a chance of acci...

Pain Levels Following Cosmetic Breast Surgery and An Easy-To-Use Pain Treatment Algorithm for Plastic Surgeons
ConclusionsSubpectoral breast augmentation is associated with higher levels of postoperative pain compared to breast reduction and mastopexy. Effective postoperative pain prevention is crucial following aesthetic breast surgeries. It not only helps to reduce hospital stays but also aids in patient recovery, facilitates a quicker return to daily activities, and enhances patient satisfaction. To achieve this objective, it is advantageous to utilize a practical pain treatment algorithm that is readily applicable.Level of Evidence IIIThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. GSE174339 RNAseq Analysis Identifies Pathways Associated with Uptake of 18F-Fluciclovine in Breast Cancer Patients
We report RNAseq analysis of 12 breast cancer patients treated with the ratiotracer 18F-Fluciclovine and the associated radiotracer uptake data. FFPE samples from 12 tumor and 7 benign tissue were sequenced. In addition, tissue samples from 6 normal breast reduction cases were sequenced for a total of 25 samples. Breast Reconstruction after Blunt Breast Trauma: Systematic Review and Case Report Using the Ribeiro Technique
This study aimed to evaluate the evidence on breast reconstruction after blunt trauma associated with the use of a seat belt. Also, we describe the first case of breast reconstruction using the Ribeiro technique. In November 2022, a systematic search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Google Scholar databases was conducted. The literature was screened independently by two reviewers, and the data was extracted. Our search terms included breast, mammoplasty, blunt injury, and seat belts. In addition, we present the case of a woman with a left breast deformity and her reconstruction using the inferior Ribeiro flap technique. Six article...
