MS in biomedical engineering
I was wondering my chances of getting accepted in medical school? Currently I am working on a masters in Biomedical Engineering and doing well (hope to graduate with at least a 3.8 GPA). However my undergraduate gpa (same major) was not as a good, a 3.25. I was wondering if I finished strong with my masters will that make up for low undergrad considering I do well on the MCAT and have necessary ECs? If med school is no go, I am hoping to get into a DO program or maybe even go to pod school.... MS in biomedical engineering (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I give up? Extracurriculars/shadowing/etc.
Hi guys, I just recently joined this site and was hoping to get some advice about my current situation. I hope that I am posting to the relevant forum. I'm a junior biomedical engineer, who just recently became interested in medical school. Since I am a little late, I plan on taking at least 1 gap year and working as an engineer to help pay, and at the earliest I'd be applying to medical school at the end of my senior year. The major problem I have is that I do not have any experience in... Should I give up? Extracurriculars/shadowing/etc. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Mcphs dental hygiene b.s (pre-dental)
Hi, I am a freshman (Biomedical engineering-WPI) who intends to transfer to MCPHS-Boston to attend the Dental Hygiene BS (pre-dental) program. This is because I found out the school seems to provide clinical experience, located at Boston (closer to my acquaintances) and the tuition fee is smaller than WPI (also comes with merit scholarship). My fall semester grade is 4.0, SAT is 1370, TOEFL ibt is 105. I really really want to pursue my career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. However, I... Need Advice: Masters Vs. Post-Bacc For Medschool App
I decided to take Biomedical Engineering as my undergraduate major, and it ended up giving me a low GPA (~3.1), which is not competitive for medical schools. My engineering (science focused) classes took a toll on my science GPA (~2.8). I am still driven to go to medical school, and even with an exceptional MCAT score, I want to boost that GPA up. Outside of my GPA, I have over 1000 clinical hours and 400 non-clinical hours. I have worked as a Scribe and ran EMS for ~2 years now. I have... Need Advice: Masters Vs. Was Thinking About Majoring in Biomedical Engineering Before Going to Dental School, But...
Okay, so I'm 17 years old and I just finished my first semester at The University of Arizona. My current major is undecided engineering. I know that it might be a little late, but after some more research, I realized that it's very challenging to get admitted to a dental school after majoring in Biomed, due to the difficulty of the courses that might lower your GPA. So, I'm trying to consider other options that are more helpful and in the field that I'm trying to pursue. Any suggestions? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What information do you wish you could have in your daily practice?
I am currently an IM resident with a strong interest in cc. I have been toying with the idea of getting involved in a biomedical engineering side project or some sort dealing with biosensors/physiological monitoring. In your day to day practice, what physiological/biochemical information do you feel you would benefit if there were a way to make it available, or available faster? I understand this is a bit of a strange question, I'm just looking for possible areas to explore should I become... What information do you wish you could have in your daily practice? Engineer to Pre-Med
Hello everyone, I'm a former pre-med turned biomedical engineering student turned senior year mechanical engineering student who is now interested in becoming a pre-med yet again. Here's my current issue. I have a 3.68 engineering GPA, and have interned at a major aerospace company that wants me to work for them eventually. I still enjoy this work, and for that reason, I'm planning on staying in school an extra year for a masters degree. But recently, I've found myself desiring the... Doing my honours in Neuroscience now. I also have 4 publications plus 2 conference publications. Will I have a good chance for the top schools? Let's top 20? What are some good saftey... WAMC and Should I retake the MCAT: 517 (127,131,129,130)
Regarding the MCAT I definitely felt like the C/P was a complete curveball, nothing like my prep. I think that if I retook I could bring it at least up by 2 points (519, maybe more). I want to give myself a real chance at the top schools (Baylor, HMS, Stanford, yadda yadda). I know 517 is just on par for their averages. I hear a lot about CARS being most important, and I have always felt great about CARS. White, 24 y/o nontrad, biomedical engineer undergraduate from Vanderbilt.... What are my Chances
Goal is to become a physician-scientist, possibly in surgery. So MD is preferable to DO, but I will apply both. Applied last cycle (2016), got two interviews, one rejection and one waitlist. Non-trad (I think): graduated 2016 in bioengineering, have been working as a biomedical engineer since then in a research/clinical setting. Also been volunteering and shadowing in the off-year. cGPA: 3.53 sGPA: 3.52 MCAT (2014): 31 (12 Phys, 9 Verb, 10 Bio) MCAT (2017): 514 (128 C/P, 130 CARS, 127...
