Update after a few years; Graduated and unsure of my future
Hello all! I hope your days are going well. As of August 2022, I have graduated with a biomedical engineering bachelors (B.S.E., GPA: 3.1, sGPA: 2.7~) and I am currently a non-degree seeking master's student this semester to focus on a patent I'm working on while also a few classes, while hopefully working full time in the engineering industry.
My B.S.E. was filled with regret. I split my focus between pre-med and engineering, and ended up doing horribly in both. I dropped pre-med and...

How should I pursue DO school?
I have a bachelors in biology with a 3.1 cumulative GPA, 2.8 science gpa, and I'm finsihing a masters thesis in biomedical engineering with a 3.455 gpa. I'll also be probably publishing about 4 papers or more with 1 being possibly 1st author depending. My question is how should I go about pursuing DO school? Should I
A) Retake undergrad classes and apply to DO schools
B) Take upper level under grad classes and apply
C) Do a post bacc program
D) Do a special masters program
E) Do another...

Biomedical Engineering adding to Med School Class Diversity
I am trying to brainstorm ways in which a student with a bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering would add to the diversity of the medical school class in a positive way.
In practice, it could be beneficial to assess the clinical relevance of novel medical devices, technological integration, or new approaches to providing treatments for patients with unmet medical needs.
I'm thinking it could be an asset to the class, as biomedical engineers are trained problem-solvers, conceptualize...

Help me prepare for M1
Hello! I start my MD/PhD program in a few weeks, and am super nervous about doing well in school. I studied biomedical engineering, and memorizing was never my strong suit. Is there anything I should do to prepare for the workload or anything I should familiarize myself with that will help me do well? I did poorly my first year of college and cannot afford to have that same behavior during M1. I'd appreciate all and any advice! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dentistry vs Engineering
I am having trouble deciding between dentistry and engineering. I graduated a year ago as a pre dental but I am having second thoughts. With the amount of debt for dental school I would be owing about 500k in loans and barely making 120k a year at least the first few years. It would also take me 4 years to finish dental school as opposed to a 1 year master's program in biomedical engineering where i'll start making 100k with no debt in only 1 year. Is my outlook to dentistry wrong or am I...

2 IA - Now what?
Hello everyone!
I'm new to SDN so here's my situation:
I am currently a junior biomedical engineering major applying next cycle (taking a gap year), with a GPA about 3.9 and planning to take MCAT in August (hoping to score over 515). ECs including leadership in clubs + sorority, on campus peer leadership job, research in my undergrad (and recently got accepted to a research position at a neighboring medical school), hospital volunteering, scribing (recently got promoted to Chief!), and...

Postbacc GPA vs Curriculum
Hi everyone!
I majored in biomedical engineering and got a 3.1 uGPA. I am doing a SMP to make up for the low gpa.
All else equal, do you think medical schools prefer a high gpa (3.9) at a very good grad school, or realistically a lower/average gpa (3.6) at a large program that uses a med school curriculum? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
