Huge upward GPA trend
I have an enormous cGPA trend. After my first 3 years, I transferred and did 5 more years of school (BS Biology & Math, BS Biomedical Engineering, MS Biomedical Engineering).
cGPA by year
1.72, 1.77, 1.16... ... ... 2.94, 3.57, 3.94, 3.98, 3.97
My cGPA over my entire academic career is a 3.06 (sGPA is comparable).
However, looking at just my last 4 years, I have a cGPA of 3.73 over 226 credits.
Given that in my last 4 years I've taken almost twice as many credits as is...

Looking for gap year advice, ORM engineering student with interest in medical devices/innovation
Hi everyone, I'm nervous to post on here because I know that my stats right now are very poor. This is exactly why I am taking a gap year (more than likely 2 years). I really just need guidance on what I should do during this year to improve my application.
I am an undergrad (graduating spring 2024), majoring in biomedical engineering and minoring in business at a T25 university. My current gpa is around a 3.17, and at most I will be able to graduate with a 3.2-something. I really messed...

Undergraduate research relevant for neurosurgery residency?
I am an undergraduate. I am in three research labs with multiple publications in each. I am in a biomedical engineering lab that looked at craniofacial wound treatment. I am in a psychology lab that focused on social psychology and I am also in a neuroscience lab looking at movement and neurodegenerative disorders that is led by an MD/PhD.
Would each of this publications be relevant for a neurosurgery application? And which publications would be more valuable - would neuroscience/BME be...

Questions about transitioning to Optometry
Hello, I graduated with a bachelors in biomedical engineering but unfortunately I do not think I want to make a profession out of it.
I was considering transitioning to optometry but I wanted to ask for your thoughts.
I have taken 2 physics classes with lab, 1 molecular biology course with lab, 1 systems physiology with lab, 1 stats (tho for engineers), 3 calcs, 2 chem with lab, and orgo 1 with lab. I have a 3.32 GPA.
Can I transition from BME to pre optometry with these course credits? Is...

What ECs are expected for non-traditional students? If my ECs are mainly prior to my postbacc, does that harm my application?
Hello! I feel like there’s such a large range of what people are recommending as EC advice across various websites.
For background:
I have a degree in a medical related field (biomedical engineering), and a relatively low GPA (3.2, which counts as graduating with honors for my school as it is an engineering school.) I am in the middle of taking a 2yr science classes only postbacc with a 4.0 so far.
Prior to my postbacc I worked full time for the CDC in a respiratory clinic in a small US...
