Resuscitation Update - What's New?
Anasthesiol Intensivmed Notfallmed Schmerzther. 2024 Apr;59(4):214-225. doi: 10.1055/a-2082-8685. Epub 2024 Apr 29.ABSTRACTPerfect, uninterrupted basic life support (BLS) is the key for successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). Time plays an important role in the treatment of OHCA. This applies both to the time until the start of BLS and the reduction of all pauses during resuscitation, especially chest compressions. In 2022, the rate of bystander-CPR showed an absolute increase of 4% compared to previous years. The bystander-CPR rate is currently above 50%. Compared to OHCA i...

Hazardous traffic scenarios for motorcyclists in Indonesia: a comprehensive insight from police accident data and self-reports
This study addresses this issue by identifying hazardous scenarios for motorcyclists in Indonesia. We conducted a two-step cluster analysis and injury analysis to examine motorcycle accidents based on the police accident dataset (2020-2021) of Brebes Regency, Indonesia. We integrated the findings with accident self-reports from 104 young motorcyclists using a joint display to obtain a more comprehensive insight. As a result, we identified four hazardous traffic scenarios: motorcycle-to-vehicle collisions on median roads, motorcycle-to-vehicle collisions on non-median roads, motorcycle-to-pedestrian collisions, and single-m...

Clinical spectrum of fusariosis from a tertiary care center in India- a retrospective study
CONCLUSION: Traumatic injuries were the major cause of infections in the present study. As Fusarium is a virulent and highly resistant pathogen, an early suspicion and an appropriate diagnosis would lead to a better outcome in these patients.PMID:38682054 | PMC:PMC11055442 | DOI:10.18502/ijm.v16i1.14884 (Source: Iranian Journal of Microbiology)
