Isolation and Identification of Free Living Amoeba from Patients and Contact Lens Users in Iran
CONCLUSION: The clinicians should pay attention to the possible complication of this organism because this amoeba is potentially pathogenic for immunocompromised patients. Since the amoeba is present in environmental resources, the use of contact lenses should be accompanied by considering proper hygiene.PMID:36032744 | PMC:PMC9363255 | DOI:10.18502/ijpa.v17i2.9532 (Source: Iranian Journal of Parasitology)

Acute Rejection Following COVID-19 Vaccination in Penetrating Keratoplasty in a Young Male - A Case Report and Review of Literature
CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests that BNT162b2 messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine can be associated with acute keratoplasty rejection in children, which responds completely to topical steroids. Ophthalmologists should be aware of this risk of cornea decompensation after COVID-19 vaccine in children who received a cornea transplant.PMID:35914312 | DOI:10.1080/09273948.2022.2106248 (Source: Ocular Immunology and Inflammation)

A novel montmorillonite clay-cetylpyridinium chloride complex as a potential antiamoebic composite material in contact lenses disinfection
CONCLUSION: Given the ease of usage, safety, cost-effectiveness and long-term stability, CPC and CPC-Mt complex can prove to be an excellent choice in the rational development of contact-lens disinfectants to eradicate pathogenic Acanthamoeba effectively.PMID:35868573 | DOI:10.1016/j.exppara.2022.108330 (Source: Experimental Parasitology)
