My Answer To The Question – Why do people get so concerned when dieting is involved?

Many of you like the questions and answers on this blog. I just found another one from ‘A.O’ who asks I am a healthy male in my mid 20′s and I find it extremely depressing how people react when I talk about dieting. For example, this week I am doing a 2 day liquid diet for cleansing purposes. And once people found out about this my office it soon became a circle of concerned citizens, all focused on my health. As if I could just die by doing this…Why are people so deathly afraid of dieting or changes to ones diet? Answer: This isn’t really a diet issue. It’s a psychological question about why you’re so concerned about the reaction of other’s that you find it “extremely depressing” and why they are concerned about your diet.People become fearful of things they don’t understand. So, you’re answer is “ignorance”. People who are ignorant of what you’re doing may become concerned.Why you’re doing useless cleanses is another issue. Here’s some verbiage about that.”Detox” is short for detoxification and detoxification is a natural process involving your liver and kidneys and there is nothing you can do to effect it. It is impossible to detoxify a human once the toxin is in the blood with the possible exception of kidney dialysis to support the kidney’s natural activity.
