Risk of ESRD and Mortality in Kidney and Bladder Stone Formers
ConclusionsThe higher risk for ESRD in recurrent symptomatic compared with incident symptomatic kidney stone formers suggests that stone events are associated with kidney injury. The clinical indication for imaging in asymptomatic stone formers, the correct diagnosis in miscoded stone formers, and the cause of a bladder outlet obstruction in bladder stone formers may explain the higher risk for ESRD or death in these groups.
Conclusions: Social support was identified as an important variable for older adults with chronic illness who lived alone. Interventions that include social support hold the potential to reduce depression and suicidal ideation in this population.
Conclusions: Documentation patterns revealed a lack of proactive and systematic approach to pain assessment and management. Furthermore, there was little documented evidence of efforts to evaluate the effectiveness of pain management interventions. Findings have important implications for standardizing documentation of pain assessment, intervention, and evaluation.

CONCLUSIONS Our study demonstrated that hub DEGs may assist in the molecular understanding of LGG recurrence. These findings still need further molecular studies to identify the assignment of DEGs in LGG. PMID: 31104065 [PubMed - in process]
In this study, we investigated FTH1 mRNA expression and its diagnostic and prognostic value in RCC. MATERIAL AND METHODS The mRNA expression of FTH1 was analyzed using including Oncomine, Gene Expression Omnibus, and Cancer Genome Atlas datasets, while the protein level of FTH1 was analyzed using the Human Protein Atlas database. The associations between FTH1 and clinicopathologic characteristics and survival time and Cox multivariate survival analysis were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software. A meta-analysis was performed to assess consistency of FTH1 expression. GO, KEGG, and PPI analyses were used to predict biological fu...
AbstractPurposeEndoscopic approach represents a valid alternative to conventional septoplasty. The aim of this study is to analyze the objective and subjective data on 276 patients, who underwent traditional (147) or endoscopic (129) septoplasty.MethodsThis is a prospective observational study on 276 consecutive patients affected by deviated nasal septum (DNS), who underwent isolated septoplasty between 2011 and 2018. 147 of them were treated using an “open” approach, while 129 were treated with an endoscopic approach. The two groups were compared 3 months after surgery: the objective results (complications suc...
Publication date: Available online 19 May 2019Source: Molecular and Cellular EndocrinologyAuthor(s): Tao Tao, Yuying Wang, Bing Xu, Xiuying Mao, Yun Sun, Wei LiuAbstractImpaired steroid production in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) may result from adiponectin system dysfunction. However, adiponectin's role in ovulatory dysfunction remains unclear. We aimed to determine whether human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and adiponectin affect progesterone and estradiol secretion by granulosa cells (GCs) from overweight or obese women with PCOS or normal ovulation. ADIPOR2 expression was higher in hCG-treated GCs from PCOS patients...
