Call for Proposals: Saving Tiny Hearts Society

Call for Proposals: Saving Tiny Hearts Society The Saving tiny Hearts Society’s mission is to raise seed money for grossly under-funded, lifesaving grass roots research of congenital heart defects (CHD's). This seed funding acts as a bridge for this research to millions of dollars of extramural funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) or other outside funding. CHD's are the #1 birth defect worldwide affecting over 1,000,000 babies every year! The Saving tiny Hearts Society is announcing that the application receipt deadline for 2014 funding is September 26, 2014. All applications must be received by midnight CST via email. The completed application should be emailed to Larry Kluge – Director, Liaison to the Medical Advisory Board in a single PDF (1 cumulative file) document that includes all attachments by midnight CST on September 26, 2014. Please see the Instructions on the Grant Application for more information. Proposals will be scored according to the NIH format (1-9) where a 1 is exceptional and a 9 is not worthy of funding. Areas that will be scored include: Significance, Investigator, Innovation, Approach, Environment, Translational Implications for CHD and Budget. Applications will be reviewed in late November with awards starting in January, 2015. Should you have any questions regarding the completion of the Research Grant Application, please contact: Loren E. Wold, PhD, FAHA, FAPS Chair, Medical Advisory Boar...
