Prior Exposure to Experimental Preeclampsia Increases Atherosclerotic Plaque Inflammation in Atherogenic Mice
CONCLUSIONS: In atherogenic LDLR-KO mice, exposure to sFlt1-induced preeclampsia during pregnancy increases future atherosclerotic plaque inflammation, supporting the concept that preeclampsia directly exacerbates atherosclerotic inflammation independent of preexisting risk factors. This mechanism may contribute to ischemic vascular disease in women after preeclampsia pregnancy.PMID:38450510 | DOI:10.1161/ATVBAHA.123.320474
