Atherosclerotic patients with diabetes mellitus may break through the threshold of healthy TMAO levels formed by long-term statins therapy
CONCLUSION: Diabetics have abnormally high plasma TMAO levels even under continuous statins treatment, which may contribute to the development and progression of atherosclerosis.
