Characteristic of Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma by Algorithm of Potential Biomarkers for Uterine Mesenchymal Tumor
Curr Issues Mol Biol. 2023 Jul 25;45(8):6190-6201. doi: 10.3390/cimb45080390.ABSTRACTThe benign tumor uterine leiomyoma (UL) develops from the smooth muscle tissue that constitutes the uterus, whereas malignant tumor uterine sarcoma develops from either the smooth muscle tissue or stroma and is different from UL and endometrial cancer. Uterine sarcoma is broadly classified into three types: uterine leiomyosarcoma, endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS), and carcinosarcoma. Although uterine leiomyosarcoma and ESS are both classified as uterine sarcoma, they significantly differ in terms of their sites of occurrence, symptoms, an...

Next generation sequencing reveals a high prevalence of pathogenic mutations in homologous recombination DNA damage repair genes among patients with uterine sarcoma
CONCLUSIONS: Approximately 1 in 3 patients with uterine sarcoma harbor a pathogenic alteration in HR-DDR genes. Incidence is high among patients with uterine leiomyosarcoma and adenosarcoma.PMID:37611378 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2023.07.020 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)

Prevalence of sonographic signs in women with uterine sarcoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Solid component, irregular walls of cystic areas and singular lesions are signs at very high prevalence, while inhomogeneous echogenicity of solid component, anechoic cystic areas and absence of calcifications are signs at high prevalence. Remaining signs were less relevant.PMID:37562447 | DOI:10.1055/a-2151-9205 (Source: Ultraschall in der Medizin)

The Application of 18F-FES PET in Clinical Cancer Care: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSIONS: [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is not only a convenient and accurate diagnostic imaging tool for detecting ER-expressing lesions in patients with breast and ovarian cancer but also among patients with uterine cancer. [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is a noninvasive predictive and monitoring tool for treatment response and prognosis.PMID:37482660 | DOI:10.1097/RLU.0000000000004760 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)
