Pediatric Toxicology
Is there any particular desire in the toxicology world to train/recruit pediatric toxicologists? Is there a research or clinical niche for people with that background? Or is it just another route to toxicology with no more or less marketability than any other toxicologist? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

spoiler: nbme 18 question
Hey guys, one of the questions of NBME 18 section 1 was as follows: child with large flaccid bullae over trunk and abdomen, fever (102), bp110/60. People in diffeent forums are suggesting that it's toxic shock syndrome. However, this child doesn't have shock; desquamation is the more common dermatological manifestation rather than bullae; no end-organ problems or vomiting; toxic shock syndrome doesn't classically occur in children, but in women using tempons. So I am wondering if it's choice... spoiler: nbme 18 question (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Premed Undergrad - UW or Brown?
Hi guys! I'm a senior in high school, and after a lot of consideration, I've narrowed down my top choices for colleges to the University of Washington and Brown University. I'm hoping for an environment that is competitive, but not too cutthroat, and I've heard that the curves in STEM classes at UW create a really toxic environment and almost certainly would result in a lower GPA. However, Brown is known for grade inflation, so would a high GPA at Brown still be worth the same as a lower... Premed Undergrad - UW or Brown? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Quiting matched residency now
I am in a huge dilemma at this time and would appreciate if anyone could help me. I was recently matched to a PGY1 that was very low on my rank list. Now, the thing is that I have done rotations there as a student and the hospital's environment and culture were toxic. Looking back, I should have not even ranked them... But I thought that I would never matched there. I know I made a huge mistake. After thinking about this over the past few days, I know I just cannot see myself in that... Veterinary, Toxicology Pathology
With a DVM and a PhD in Toxicology, what kind of jobs can one pursue? I am not aware of the career options with a DVM-PhD (in toxicology). Also, is it possible to get in to a pathology residency with a DVM-PhD (in Pharmacology and Toxicology)? If not, what field would you do your PhD in for becoming a Veterinarian Tox Pathologist. Please help! I'm lost. Thank you. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
