What is the stipend amount AFTER taxes?
Currently the living stipend is $2122/month. Assuming that the figure remains the same in the coming months, can someone please tell me what taxes are on it (federal/state and percentage)? I'd just like an estimate of what my living resources will be when I commission. I am a CA resident. Thank you. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dental Practice Budget
Could anyone give me an estimation of how much it would cost to build a dental practice? Construction and equipment fees etc. Here are the specs being looked at currently: Shopping plaza in middle class area. 1200 sqft 2520 per month including taxes and fees. Looking to put on 3 ops and a small lab. Also looking at digital X-ray system and computer software. Doesn't have to be super fancy and high end everything but it has to be presentable. I know there are many variables when it comes... Dental Practice Budget (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Budgeting help
No meaningful financial advice help at my school so I was hoping to get some advice from those who have done it or have been successful on how to budget PGy1 resident salary and beyond 120k loans -- mostly medical school and all federal without any grad plus loans Assuming 51k resident salary which I would expect to see 80% after taxes leaving ~41k, how much should go towards disability, life insurance, retirement, etc? Any thoughts if I should go the way of forbearance or another type... Budgeting help (Source: Student Doctor Network)

work experience help!
I've been and am currently working as a tutor on craigslist for cash, so naturally my salary aren't taxed and my hours aren't logged. I have been hired by multiple tutoring organizations previously but I make less than half of what I earn than when I advertise myself. However, I value experience more than money and I don't want to look like I can't get a job or am not doing anything during my gap year. I am wondering how could I document my hours in my primary application and would this be... work experience help! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Clinton Tax plan
I know many of you on SDN are liberal-leaning Closet Socialists but the Clinton Tax plan will be raising taxes on Physicians yet again. Clinton will be forced to raise taxes on all those earning more than $120K per year in order to pay for the expanding Federal debt and the ever-increasing Federal budget. http://money.cnn.com/2016/03/03/pf/taxes/hillary-clinton-taxes/ http://taxfoundation.org/article/details-and-analysis-hillary-clinton-s-tax-proposals (Source: Student Doctor Network)

NY Medical Society Task Force Says US Grads 1st In NRMP Match!!!
Protect US Citizens and Legal Residents The central argument in Resolution 2015-115 for giving preference in the matching program to graduates of US medical and osteopathic schools is that residency training is currently funded in large part by taxpayers, and that this public good should not be denied to qualified taxpayers while others reap the benefit. After weighing the counter arguments very carefully, including respect for the exceptional quality so many international graduates bring... Them Tax Brackets
Wow my 2015 taxes. I have been increasing my hours and getting an average psychiatrist's salary instead of just a part-time salary. Trying to pay off loans and whatnot. So now I get to see some real taxes and diminishing returns with greater effort. Anybody else hesitant to work more because of taxes? I find significantly greater mental burden with increasing hours and I am on the fence if I should work more to make less. Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile app (Source: Student Doctor Network)
