Child Psychiatry Hum Dev. 2024 Apr 27. doi: 10.1007/s10578-024-01701-6. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMany studies link anxiety in children with reading difficulties, but some facets of anxiety have been found to be positively associated with reading achievement. Attentional Control Theory offers a potential explanation for these seemingly contradictory findings, positing that anxiety can both interfere in attentional processes and enhance effort and use of compensatory processing strategies. Pityriasis lichenoides: assessment of 41 pediatric patients
CONCLUSIONS: The clinical form most commonly found was PLC mainly in schoolchildren and adolescents. The frequency peaks coincided with infectious outbreaks. The remission rate was satisfactory with antibiotic therapy, but higher with phototherapy. Remission was greater in patients with disease onset after 5 years of age.PMID:38677323 | DOI:10.1016/j.jped.2024.03.011 (Source: Jornal de Pediatria)

Acta Psychol (Amst). 2024 Apr 26;246:104252. doi: 10.1016/j.actpsy.2024.104252. Although these studies imply that TEA is related to HRV and may explain the association between HRV and psychological disorders, there is limited research investigating this implication. Such investigation is essential to illuminate the psychophysiological processes linked to psychological disorders. The present study aims t...

Evaluating Clinical Reasoning in Undergraduate Medical Education: The Value of a Virtual Oral Assessment
CONCLUSIONS: Virtual oral assessments of clinical reasoning can be incorporated in undergraduate medical education to identify students struggling with components of clinical reasoning, while also allowing maximum flexibility for the clinician educator workforce as examiners. Longitudinal use of these exams would be valuable to track the development of clinical reasoning across the medical school curriculum.PMID:38676698 | DOI:10.1177/00031348241250049 (Source: The American Surgeon)
