Should I list every publication on EARS?
Hey all, current M4 shooting for PM&R this coming cycle. Have around 20ish journal publications and 10 conference presentations. Out of these, only two are PM&R specific (an experimental trial involved stroke patients for rehab trial). A couple of them are sports science/med related. The majority of the rest are surgery-related animal/basic science studies that I still pump out papers up until today. Also received grants and funding for these projects as the lead investigator. Now my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Sports and IPR
I know people often say that it’s hard to do entirely sports in a practice and to mix in your primary specialty. That makes sense for FM but what do PM&R sport docs throw in? Have any of you ever heard anyone mixing Sports with IPR/SNF? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does it significantly help to get a retail job in order to work paid research?
Man oh man, I am quite late to the game. My parents never really allowed me to hold a job in high school, which is alright since I was involved in school sports and took all the challenging APs offered, but now that I’m in college, I’m struggling to find a retail job like at a grocery store or something along those lines. I applied for last year’s cycle of SURF/undergrad research but was rejected from the handful I applied for. I have a sneaking suspicion it could have been due to my lack... WAMC/School list for International/URM/3.98/514
Hey y'all, I am planning on applying next cycle. Just want a second opinion of my school list or if there are any schools I should add or remove. Came to the US from Australia on a D1 sports scholarship, competed for all four years as well as overseas at a professional level for a summer. Currently doing my MS in Biology. Kinda stressed about my chances, I know my hours in some areas need to get up but I am working on it now. Am planning to try and get an employment based green card... Adding Fluoro Suite in Office - pay structure question
Hi All, I'm a PM&R Sports Medicine physician who did a fair amount of spine training in residency and fellowship. I work in an small (~8 doctor) ortho/sports group, mostly primary care sports, 2 surgeons. I predominantly do sports med, but am about 50% spine, doing ESIs and RFA (axial and joint). Up to this point I have been doing this in a hospital or ASC setting, as I added this to our practice and no spine care was established and we had no C-arm. Two years in we are looking to develop... Early Entry Advice
Hi everybody. I am currently a junior in high school who really wants to become a veterinarian. I have lived on a farm my whole life and am the main caretaker for our animals, especially when it comes to injuries/diseases. I also do really well academically (32 ACT and 4.14 GPA), I am quite active in FFA and sports, and I'm going to hopefully start an internship with two different vets this summer. With all of this, does applying to an early-acceptance vet school sound like a good idea/would... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC First time applicant
Hi! I am applying to vet school this cycle, graduating college next year in 2024. My major is Biology and I go to a small, competitive liberal arts school in Pennsylvania. I'm debating if I should wait to apply and take a gap year because I don't have a ton of veterinary experience due to COVID and I play Division I Lacrosse. It is a spring sport, so we come back during winter break so I can only work over the summers. Plus, I wasn't able to get a job as a veterinary assistant until this... Which diversity essay topic is better?
Hello SDN! Thanks in advance for your help. I'm debating between a few topics for my diversity essay. For context, I am a non-Hispanic white woman. 1. LGBTQIA Status: I identify as gay, and spent most of my life in a female-dominated sport. I remained closeted for most of my teenage years, because although I grew up in a liberal area, I was terrified of being excluded from the female spaces that constituted the majority of my community. I never faced any discrimination because of this... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
