Started UWorld today in my 2nd week of content review, but when I select certain topics to do questions for, I see topics that I haven ’t studied yet
So basically, I am going about the 100 day SDN MCAT Study Schedule and today is the first day to do Uworld. I’m doing a 59 question block and I just feel so stupid because when I the topics for what I’ve been studying to do questions on, (Amino Acids &Proteins, Cell Biology, Atomic Theory and Chemical Composition, Intro to Orgo, and Mechanics and Energy), I’m met with questions talking about thermodynamic and kinetic stability, blood flow to skin increase during exercise, etc that I have... Hypoglycemia from intermittent fasting??
I am an anesthesiologist so I’m looking for insight from my IM colleagues, especially endocrine. My golf buddy claims that he occasionally gets hypoglycemia late in the morning when intermittent fasting. Totally healthy, non overweight 45 year old. No meds. Fasts from 6 pm to 10 am. Says he gets visual disturbances that sound like scotoma, maybe some lightheadedness. Reverses with food. Worse if exercise before food. Seems like healthy pancreas/glucogon would prevent this, am I wrong? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Low Rate of Aspiration With GLP-1s During Upper GI Endoscopy

Orthopedics vs Family medicine with MSK focus
Trying to decide on specialties to apply for and have really narrowed it down to FM and ortho largely due to the patient population (sports medicine type of practice hopefully working with an increasingly active aging population), a strong interest in musculoskeletal cases, and working with my hands to get fast/robust improvements to peoples health. I know primary care and ortho sports med have a lot of differences, but I'd be shaping a primary care sports med clinic to be as close to ortho... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Do sports med docs also practice general family medicine?
The only sports doc I've met worked at a university for the athletes so I don't think he had a general practice. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
