Tisk! Tisk! Thou Do Not Read Carefully Enough!
We had spinach last week.  Helen likes to put a little lemon juice in it for me and she boils it with slices of hard boiled eggs.  Dad cooks asparagus with his special lemon and mayonnaise emulsion sauce that is to die for.  I can literally eat a whole can of asparagus by myself. We only eat it on special occasions, though. It’s frou frou food for Christmas and Thanksgiving and such. Thou Shalt Play Oblivion… Sharyna, look for the game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It is the predecessor to the game I am playing now.  I loved it and it is not a twitch game, but a role playing game.  I believe...

No fake foods for Truemarrow
John has become a vocal advocate for the wheat- and grain-free lifestyle, having experienced reversals of obesity, hypertension, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and joint pains. Here’s his terrific story: I started my journey I was 252 pounds, my blood pressure was 180/120, and I could not do my favorite physical activity, tennis, for more than 10 minutes without being out of breath. I was also having extreme trouble sleeping, I was anxious and depressed, and I had arthritic symptoms in my knees. Not sure about blood sugar, but I am sure I was prediabetic. I was also a 38 waist pushing 40 and my body fat percentage w...

Kitchen Therapy - The Bipolar Question of the Week
Let me get in a quick plug for doing your own cooking. For me, there are four benefits: I eat healthier, the food tastes better, it is a sure-fire stress-buster, and I have the satisfaction of a job well done.    Last evening I was busy preparing my “Green Meatloaf Wellington.” This involved frying up three different greens (spinach, chard, and kale), then adding sautéed Portobello mushrooms, caramelized... Vomiting, Diarrhea, and Our Place in the Universe
I’m not sure I can live up to the promise of this post, but as I crouched naked on my hand and knees this weekend, crippled in the 6th hour of profuse diarrhea and vomiting, a few thoughts came to me. First, how woefully miserable it is to feel sick. Not just sniffly-nose-nasal-congestion-sick, but rather the kind of sick that if it went much longer you might question your will to keep suffering. I felt a tight, painful clench in my trunk that would not ease; a foul urgency to sit on the toilet as liquid poured out; that familiar burst of saliva and welling nausea as I scrambled to clean one end before the guttural r...

Well, Helen’s supper plate was entirely not photogenic, but it tasted good going down.  We had cubed steak and gravy, vegetable medley, spinach, and Aunt B’s biscuits.  There was also a separate plate of sliced tomato and deviled eggs.   (Source: The 4th Avenue Blues)

Wheat Belliers share their wheat re-exposure experiences
How do we associate cause and effect? How do we KNOW when acid reflux, bowel urgency, depression, anxiety, asthma, joint pain and myriad other health complaints are due to consumption of modern wheat? Simple: When you can turn them on, turn them off, turn them on, turn them off, repeatedly and at will. For instance, avoid wheat, enjoy freedom from bowel urgency and the inconvenient and embarrassing searches for the nearest toilet. Have wheat, explosive return of symptoms. On again, off again: It is the consistent association that establishes a cause-effect relationship in an individual. Read the incredible descriptions fr...

Hepatitis A Infected Blueberries Sicken 113, Hepatitis A Vaccine Over 435 Adverse Reactions – Blueberries Recalled
Conclusion The beginning of this article shows the FDA and CDC removing a product, like blueberries, from the shelf when they determined it was infecting people and making them sick. You can also see that vaccines for the same virus – which are considered to be a pharmaceutical drug – harm many more children than blueberries and still these vaccines remain untouched. It’s my personal conviction the reason these organizations ignore adverse reactions is because pharmaceutical companies have firmly entrenched themselves within the US government, protecting their profits with laws. Is the risk of vaccinating your child ...

Forlorn is Grey Beard
I saw it coming as clear as day. Down at the bottom of my parent’s street was Grey Beard striding somewhere. I couldn't turn around so I  just kept going and waved! LOL Cheerio! I like the guy mostly, but he can sure use you for his purposes. He waved and hollered and I kept going. “See you, dude!” I wanted to get home and I had just procured my cokes and Helen’s lunch. I didn’t want any mad dashes to dollar stores and liquor stores. I know you don’t ever hear me complain about Helen’s lunches, but today’s was lackluster. This has a lot to do with what my father picks for Helen to cook. We had tough po...

5 Steps to Putting Sexy Back in the Bedroom
This guest article from YourTango was written by Sharon Rivkin and Nancy Lee Bentley. Feng shui, often called the art of placement, is an ancient oriental science incorporating astronomy, geography, environment, magnetic fields, physics and natural elements. The Chinese have been using it four thousand years to optimize living and working environments, with an amazing track record of benefits in health, happiness, prosperity and relationships for those who study and use its principles. Ask practitioner Sophia Schaul; her love life’s dry spell and failing business turned right around using Feng Sui. Now both she and h...

Count Down - Day 9
I am day 9 of my count until the day of nasty needles. I can't wait. that tells you how much pain I have been in if I can't wait to be sedated and stuck with  numerous needles into my spine.I am on am opiate pain patch that provides 10 mcg/hr of pain meds. That works wonders but its not enough these days. I also have another prescription pain pill which I can take up to two every six hours with  no more than 8 tablets in a 24 hour period.I used to take one every 6-8 hours. Now I take one every six hours. Yesterday afternoon I took a second one two hours after the first one because it wasn't making a dent even tho...

Chopped Salad for Better Nutrition
My Aunt Bridie and Uncle Frank from Galway, Ireland introduced me to the chopped salad this spring. I’ve always loved salad and never thought that a salad could be so delicious and magical, so boy was I surprised when I ate their chopped salad. Here’s the most exciting part: a chopped salad delivers far more nutrition than a regular salad. The reason is by chopping it you make more of the nutrients available for your body to absorb. When we chew salad we do a woeful job of actually tearing it apart enough to glean all the nutritional benefits. The other reason why this chopped salad is more nutritious is becaus...
