Properties of the mixing layer height retrieved from ceilometer measurements in Slovakia and its relationship to the air pollutant concentrations
This study examined the properties of the MLH on diurnal and seasonal timescales over a 3-year period (2020-2022) using high temporal resolution measurements from eight Vaisala CL31 ceilometers situated around Slovakia. Hourly averaged MLH data was retrieved from the BL-View software using merged method. The highest daily maxima for the MLH occurred mostly in summer and spring, while the lowest values occurred predominantly during winter and autumn. The average MLH daily maximum in summer was 2229 m, and just 859 m in winter. During summer, the spatial distribution of the MLH daily maxima was more uniform compared to winte...

Nurse educator competence in four European countries —A comparative cross‐sectional study
ConclusionsNurse educator competence is at a good level in the selected European countries, but further studies are required to find the reasons behind the differences in evaluations.Public ContributionEach participating educational institution named a contact person who distributed the surveys to the participants and returned the study's metadata to the researchers. Was there a significant difference in sleep shifts in the high school population due to the COVID-19 pandemic depending on chronotype? A nationwide cross-sectional study
Chronobiol Int. 2023 Oct 17:1-8. doi: 10.1080/07420528.2023.2265473. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to detect whether the COVID-19 pandemic has caused changes in the sleep cycle (subjective sleep shifts) of high school students divided into a sample of young women - W (n = 1999, age = 17.65 ± 2.39 y) and young men - M (n = 1094, age = 17.49 ± 1.74 y) in Slovakia depending on circadian preference in comparison with the term before COVID-19. The present cross-sectional study employed a self-reported standardized questionnaire (Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire) to study circadian preference, wh...

Reporting LDL cholesterol results by clinical biochemistry laboratories in Czechia and Slovakia to improve the detection rate of familial hypercholesterolemia
CONCLUSIONS: Only a small portion of laboratories from Czechia and Slovakia reported high LDL-C results with interpretative comments considering FH diagnosis in adults, the laboratories did not follow the guidelines.PMID:37841776 | PMC:PMC10564150 | DOI:10.11613/BM.2023.030705 (Source: Biochemia Medica)
