ARHGAP21 inhibits epithelial-mesenchymal transition by inactivating the WNT signaling pathway in non-small cell lung cancer
CONCLUSION: ARHGAP21 downregulation can significantly promote the migration and metastatic ability of NSCLC possibly as a result of WNT signaling pathway activation, which reduces the ubiquitination of β-catenin by affecting the expressions of APC, GSK3β, and Axin.PMID:37712268 | PMC:PMC10505574 | DOI:10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2023.08.08

The value of radiomics model based on ultrasound image features in the differentiation between minimal breast cancer and small benign breast masses
CONCLUSION: The radiomics model based on ultrasound image features has a satisfied predictive ability for small breast masses, and is expected to become a potential tool for the diagnosis of MBC, and it is a zero cost (in terms of patient participation and imaging time).PMID:37712556 | DOI:10.1002/jcu.23556

Insomnia Burden among Informal Caregivers of Hospitalized Lung Cancer Patients and Its Influencing Factors
CONCLUSION: Of the hospitalized patients with lung cancer, 51.9% experienced insomnia. Patients' ADL, ICs gender, alcohol consumption, underlying medical conditions, caregiving duration, and monthly expenses were influencing factors. Therefore, prompt screening and early intervention for ICs of patients with lung cancer is necessary.PMID:37711083 | DOI:10.3967/bes2023.099

Nrf2 depletion in the context of loss-of-function Keap1 leads to mitolysosome accumulation
Free Radic Biol Med. 2023 Sep 13:S0891-5849(23)00627-5. doi: 10.1016/j.freeradbiomed.2023.09.009. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTranscription factor nuclear factor erythroid 2 p45-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is the principal determinant of the cellular redox homeostasis, contributing to mitochondrial function, integrity and bioenergetics. The main negative regulator of Nrf2 is Kelch-like ECH associated protein 1 (Keap1), a substrate adaptor for Cul3/Rbx1 ubiquitin ligase, which continuously targets Nrf2 for ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. Loss-of-function mutations in Keap1 occur frequently in lung cancer, leading ...
