Medicare Bundled Payment Policy on Anemia Care, Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events, and Mortality among Adults Undergoing Hemodialysis
CONCLUSIONS: The Medicare reimbursement policy and Food and Drug Administration-recommended erythropoietin-stimulating agent dosing changes were associated with lower erythropoietin-stimulating agent use and lower hemoglobin levels. These changes in anemia care were associated with lower risks of major adverse cardiovascular event, stroke, mortality, and heart failure but higher risk of acute myocardial infarction among adults receiving hemodialysis.PMID:35589388 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.14361121

Prevalence of hypertension and dyslipidemia and their associations with micro- and macrovascular diseases in patients with diabetes in Taiwan: An analysis of nationwide data for 2000-2009.
CONCLUSION: Although progressively increased prevalence of dyslipidemia and hypertension was observed in patients with diabetes in Taiwan, there was a decrease in the prevalence of stroke and CVD in the past 10 years. Among those with macrovascular diseases, except PVD, there was a trend of decreased prevalence of hypertension and dyslipidemia during the study period. In patients with microvascular diseases, prevalence of hypertension and dyslipidemia in patients with eye diseases increased in the past 10 years. Conclusions: SFs occur in 3.7% of victims after MVC. With isolated SF, the mortality rate is low (3.5%); the tendency for poorer outcomes is most heavily influenced by associated injuries (pulmonary contusions, other thoracic fractures), complications (cardiac arrest, pulmonary embolism, acute respiratory distress syndrome), comorbidities (currently on or requiring dialysis, residual neurologic deficit from stroke), and lack of insurance.

Clinical Outcomes of Drug-Eluting Stents vs. Bare-Metal Stents in Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients Under Dialysis - A Nationwide Cohort Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Among AMI patients on dialysis undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions, DES implantation significantly reduced the risk of recurrent MI, CV death and all-cause mortality compared with BMS implantation.

Health status of populations living in French overseas territories in 2012, compared with metropolitan France: An analysis of the national health insurance database.
CONCLUSION: This study highlights the utility of administrative database to compare and follow population health status considering healthcare use. Specific Public Health policies are justified for FOT, taking into account the specific context of each FOT, the necessity of prevention initiatives and screening to reduce the frequency of the chronic diseases.

I had a great conversation the other day with a woman who takes care of her 90-year-old mother. Abstract: Patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) who are on hemodialysis have high risk of vascular diseases.
