In ‐hospital outcomes of transcatheter versus surgical aortic valve replacement in non‐teaching hospitals
ConclusionsTAVR conferred similar in ‐hospital mortality and major peri‐procedural complications compared with SAVR in non‐teaching hospitals. For those with limited access to teaching hospitals, non‐teaching hospitals appear to be a reasonable option for candidates of aortic valve replacement for severe aortic stenosis.

ConclusionsHigher VLDL-C and Apo-B levels, as well as lower HDL-C and Apo-AI levels, are associated with increased risk for ASCVD. These findings support future investigations into pharmacologic targeting of lipoproteins beyond LDL-C, such as triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, to reduce residual risk for ASCVD among individuals with CKD.

DISCUSSION: Mortality and cardiovascular disease burden have declined for dialysis patients in the United States despite an aging population that is increasingly hypertensive and diabetic. Global Economic Burden Associated with Chronic Kidney Disease: A Pragmatic Review of Medical Costs for the Inside CKD Research Programme
ConclusionGlobally, CKD carries a significant economic burden, which increases substantially with increasing disease severity. We identified significant gaps in published costs and inconsistent costing definitions. Cost-effective interventions that target primary prevention and disease progression are essential to reduce CKD burden. Our results can be used to guide cost collection and facilitate better comparisons across countries/regions to inform healthcare policy.
