Unusual Techniques for Preserving Surgical and Oncologic Safety in Hepatectomy of Advanced Adrenal Malignancy with Vena Cava and Liver Invasion
We report herein three cases of major hepatectomy with IVC invasion and discuss several surgical tips.Patients and MethodsFrom March 2011 to February 2014, we retrospectively reviewed three cases of adrenal malignancy with liver and IVC invasion. Outcomes of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy in hospitalized cancer patients
ConclusionsOutcomes are significantly worse in patients with TCM and malignancy. Hence, this patient population must be regarded as high-risk and early diagnostic consideration for TCM is warranted. Early intervention may help lower mortality, decrease resource utilization and reduce the health care costs in these patients.

Neurocognitive deficits in older patients with cancer
ConclusionNeurocognitive deficits (MCI and dementia) are more common in older adults with cancer. Factors associated with neurocognitive deficits include high comorbidity, stroke, warfarin use and metastatic cancer. Identification and management of these conditions is of great relevance in the course of cancer therapy.

A Case of Posterior Circulation Ischemic Stroke Caused by Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia after Detaining Hepatic Arterial Infusion Catheter
In Japan, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) using reservoir system is recommended for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) whose hepatic spare ability is favorable. Arterial infusion catheter is commonly detained in hepatic artery via femoral or brachial artery. In our hospital, catheter is often inserted by puncturing the left subclavian or brachial artery considering the patient's activities of daily living (ADL) during long-term detaining. However, it rarely causes posterior circulation ischemic stroke because of the left vertebral artery branches on the path of catheter.

J & J ’ s Cerenovus wins FDA nod for Embotrap II revascularization device
Johnson & Johnson‘s (NYSE:JNJ) Cerenovus said today it won FDA 510(k) clearance for the Embotrap II revascularization device.
The Irvine, Calif.-based J&J division said that the device is designed to quickly restore natural blood flow by retrieving emboli within the vasculature of the brain, using minimal compression to protect against further complications.

Changes in Hepatic Blood Flow and Liver Function during Closed Abdominal Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy following Cytoreduction Surgery.
Conclusion: Despite optimizing intravenous fluids during closed abdominal HIPEC, we observed a marked decrease in HBF and liver function. Both effects were transient and limited to the period of HIPEC but could influence the choice between closed or open abdominal cavity procedure for HIPEC and should be considered in similar clinical situations of increased IAP.

Clonal hematopoiesis (CH) describes an asymptomatic expansion of blood cells descended from a single hematopoietic stem cell. Recent studies have shown that CH increases in frequency with aging, and is often driven by somatic mutations in genes that are recurrently mutated in hematologic malignancies.
