PPP1R12C Promotes Atrial Hypocontractility in Atrial Fibrillation
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with AF exhibit increased levels of PPP1R12C protein compared with controls. PPP1R12C overexpression in mice increases PP1c targeting to MLC2a and causes MLC2a dephosphorylation, which reduces atrial contractility and increases AF inducibility. Experience and insights from a prolonged electrocardiographic monitorization with a wearable system after an embolic stroke of unknown source
ConclusionPCMw represents a feasible non-invasive device that could reliably detect subclinical AF episodes after an ESUS. Diagnostic yield was significatively higher when used within the first 30 days after the event, especially in selected patients. UAE were common, but did not impact prognosis.

Signaling Pathways Associated with Prior Cardiovascular Events in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common genetic cardiomyopathy. A subset of patients experience major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) including arrhythmias, stroke, and heart failure. However, molecular mechanisms underlying MACE in HCM are still not well understood. We therefore conducted a multicenter case-control study of patients with HCM comparing those with and without prior history of MACE to identify dysregulated signaling pathways through plasma proteomics profiling.

Sex ‐based differences in safety and efficacy of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation
ConclusionFemale patients were older and had higher CHA2DS2-VASc scores compared to males at the time of AF ablation. Women tried more AADs than men before ablation. One-year arrhythmia recurrence rates and procedural complications were similar in both sexes. No sex-based differences were observed in safety and efficacy of ablation.
