Integrative analysis of single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing unveils the senescence landscape in ischemic stroke
This study explores the potential role of cellular senescence in the pathological process following IS by analyzing transcriptome data from multiple datasets (GSE163654, GSE16561, GSE119121, and GSE174574). By using bioinformatics methods, we identified hub-senescence-related genes such as ANGPTL4, CCL3, CCL7, CXCL16, and TNF and verified them using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Further analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data suggests that MG4 microglial is highly correlated with cellular senescence in MCAO, and might play a crucial role in the pathological process after IS. Additionally...

Trends in the incidence and prevalence of dysphagia requiring medical attention among adults in South Korea, 2006 –2016: A nationwide population study
by SuYeon Kwon, Seungwoo Cha, Junsik Kim, Kyungdo Han, Nam-Jong Paik, Won-Seok Kim The prevalence of dysphagia is increasing, resulting in socioeconomic burden, but previous reports have only been based on a limited populations. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the nationwide incidence and prevalence of dysphagia requiring medical attention to provide adequate information for healthcare planning and resource allocation. In this nationwide retrospective cohort study, the data of adults aged ≥20 years recorded from 2006 to 2016 were sourced from the Korean National Health Insurance Service database. Medical claim codes ...

Prevalence and factors associated with undiagnosed and uncontrolled heart disease: A study based on self-reported chronic heart disease and symptom-based angina pectoris among middle-aged and older Indian adults
ConclusionsThe present study provided a comparative prevalence of heart disease and agina and their associations with chronic diseases among middle-aged and older adults in India. The higher prevalence of undiagnosed and uncontrolled heart disease and their risk factors among middle-aged and older Indians manisfest alarming public health concerns and future health demand.

Comparison Between Fimasartan Versus Other Angiotensin Receptor Blockers in Patients With Heart Failure After Acute Myocardial Infarction
CONCLUSION: In this nationwide cohort, fimasartan, compared with other ARBs, had comparable treatment effects for a composite of all-cause death, recurrent MI, hospitalization for heart failure, and stroke in patients with heart failure after MI.PMID:37365730 | PMC:PMC10293657 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2023.38.e202

Carotid Artery Corrected Flow Time Measured by Wearable Doppler Ultrasound Accurately Detects Changing Stroke Volume During the Passive Leg Raise in Ambulatory Volunteers
CONCLUSIONS: The ccFTΔ during the PLR in ambulatory volunteers was rapid and sustained. Within the limits of precision for detecting a clinically-significant rise in SV by a non-invasive pulse contour analysis device, simultaneously-acquired ccFT from a wireless, wearable ultrasound system was accurate at detecting 'preload responsiveness'.PMID:37369572 | DOI:10.31083/j.fbe1502012
