We examined the association of proteinuria with the risk for heart failure (HF) and other cardiovascular disease (CVD) events in patients with prior history of breast, colorectal, or stomach cancer using a nationwide population-based database.Methods: We conducted this retrospective observation study using the JMDC Claims Database and analyzed 55,191 patients with prior history of breast, colorectal, or stomach cancer. Pure Thalamic Infarct: 8-Year Follow-Up Study in a Hospital in China
In conclusion, our cohort of pure thalamic infarcts were mainly due to SVO (TOAST), with hypertension as the main risk factor, and the inferolateral artery as the most implicated arterial territory. Less severe outcome or stroke recurrence are identified in long-term follow-up of pure thalamic infarcts. Other comorbidities would be cause of death in aged patients.

Age and Life-Sustaining Treatment Preferences in Parkinson Disease
Conclusions Advancing age in PD may correlate with paradoxically more aggressive goals as it relates to life-sustaining treatment preferences including cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This may reflect a response to heightened concern among older adults with PD about the potential for compromised autonomy in the setting of aging.

Inflammation and malnutrition play a critical role in the outcomes of patients undergoing carotid artery stenting (CAS). Prognostic nutritional index (PNI) is commonly utilized to evaluate the peri-operative immune-nutritional status of patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery and is independently associated with survival. Abstract A 45-year-old woman was treated by Capecitabine (Xeloda(®)) during 6days for breast cancer with metastatic bone lesions when she presented with nausea, headaches, muscle cramps, dysarthria and swallowing disorders. Anti-Vascular endothelial growth factor therapy impairs endothelial function of retinal microcirculation in colon cancer patients – an observational study
Conclusions Bevacizumab acutely impairs microvascular function independent of blood pressure changes. Imaging of the retinal microcirculation seems a valuable tool for monitoring pharmacodynamic effects of bevacizumab. Trial registration NCT ID: NCT00740168
