Sensory deficits of the paretic and non-paretic upper limbs relate with the motor recovery of the poststroke subjects
CONCLUSION: In stroke, sensory deficits relate weakly with the recovery of the paretic upper limb and can predict recovery potential of the paretic upper limb.PMID:37690032 | DOI:10.1080/10749357.2023.2253629

MCPIP-1 knockdown enhances endothelial colony-forming cell angiogenesis via the TFRC/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in the ischemic penumbra of MCAO mice
In this study, we performed Proteome Profilerâ„¢ Human Angiogenesis Antibody arrays and tandem mass tag protein profiling to investigate the effect of MCPIP-1 on ECFCs. We demonstrated that MCPIP-1 knockdown enhanced the proliferation, migration, and in vivo and in vitro angiogenic capacity of ECFCs by upregulating the transferrin receptor-activated AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway to promote cellular trophic factor secretion. Furthermore, we found that the lateral ventricular transplantation of ECFCs with lentiviral MCPIP-1 knockdown into mice with middle cerebral artery occlusion increased serum vacular endothelial growth fac...

The emerging role of the gut microbiome in posttraumatic stress disorder
Brain Behav Immun. 2023 Sep 7:S0889-1591(23)00269-6. doi: 10.1016/j.bbi.2023.09.005. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPosttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) occurs in some people following exposure to a terrifying or catastrophic event involving actual/threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. PTSD is a common and debilitating mental disorder that imposes a significant burden on individuals, their families, health services, and society. Moreover, PTSD is a risk factor for chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, as well as premature mortality. Furthermore, PTSD is associated with dysregulat...
