Treatment Of An Extracranial Carotid Artery Aneurysm With Flow Diverter Stents And Coil Embolization
Extracranial carotid artery aneurysms (ECAAs) are uncommon. Although the true incidence and natural history of ECAAs are largely unknown, case series report a high risk of transient ischemic attack, stroke, or rupture if left untreated. Open surgical repair and endovascular therapy are both reasonable options depending on the size and location of the aneurysm.

Endovascular treatment of ruptured anterior communicating aneurysms: a 17-year institutional experience with coil embolization
Conclusions Endovascular treatment of ruptured ACoA aneurysms is safe and is associated with low mortality and retreatment rates. Younger patients with favorable functional status and larger aneurysm size are more likely to be retreated. Ruptured aneurysms <4 mm, although prevalent in the study (29%), never required retreatment.

North American multicenter experience with the Flow Redirection Endoluminal Device in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms
CONCLUSIONS: As the first large-scale North American multicenter FRED experience, this study confirmed the ease of successful FRED deployment but suggested lower efficacy and a higher rate of complications than reported by previous European and South American studies on FRED and other flow-diverting devices. The authors recommend judicious use of this device until future studies can better elucidate the long-term outcomes of FRED treatment.PMID:36087324 | DOI:10.3171/2022.7.JNS221371

A cost-utility analysis comparing endovascular coiling to neurosurgical clipping in the treatment of aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage
AbstractEndovascular coiling (EC) has been identified in systematic reviews and meta-analyses to produce more favourable clinical outcomes in comparison to neurosurgical clipping (NC) when surgically treating a subarachnoid haemorrhage from a ruptured aneurysm. Cost-effectiveness analyses between both interventions have been done, but no cost-utility analysis has yet been published. This systematic review aims to perform an economic analysis of the relative utility outcomes and costs from both treatments in the UK. A cost-utility analysis was performed from the perspective of the National Health Service (NHS), over a 1-yea...

O10 The necessity of monitoring platelet response and adjusting antiplatelet agents for endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms: a single-center, retrospective, cohort study
ConclusionActive monitoring and adjustment antiplatelet agents did not reduce ischemic complications in endovascular treatment; however, tended to reduce the ischemic complication, especially in flow diversion. Low-dose prasugrel may be feasible without increasing hemorrhage in the endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms.ReferencesLi W. O-007 First US multicenter experience using the pipeline flex embolization device with shield technology for treatment of intracranial aneurysms - periprocedural outcomes and early safety profile
ConclusionOur study is the first to report the early experience with the newly FDA-approved PED Flex with Shield technology amongst US centers. Our results are comparable with non-US, international studies showing a high technical success rate and safe peri-procedural angiographic and patient outcome. Long-term follow-up will be needed to provide more robust data on angiographic and patient outcomes.Disclosures A. Kuhn: None. J. Singh: None. A. Abdelsalam: None. V. Saini: None. J. Burks: None. G.
