Short term outcomes following clipping and coiling of ruptured intracranial aneurysms: does some of the benefit of coiling stem from less procedural impact on deranged physiology at presentation?
Conclusions More profound physiological derangement at baseline is a strong predictor of eventual poor outcome, and outcomes for patients with more profound baseline physiological derangement may be improved if undergoing a coiling procedure.

Periprocedural complications associated with endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms in 1764 cases
Conclusions The periprocedural complication rate was higher in ruptured aneurysms than in unruptured aneurysms. The main causes of morbidity and mortality were thromboembolisms, intraprocedural aneurysm perforations, and postprocedural aneurysmal ruptures. While some periprocedural complications are inevitable, we can minimize the occurrence of such complications by advancing our skill and experience, thereby improving patient prognosis.

Endovascular Treatment of Ruptured Blister-Like Aneurysms: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis with Focus on Deconstructive versus Reconstructive and Flow-Diverter Treatments INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Endovascular treatment of ruptured blister-like aneurysms is associated with high rates of complete occlusion and good mid- to long-term neurologic outcomes in most patients. Deconstructive techniques are associated with higher occlusion rates but a higher risk of perioperative ischemic stroke. In the reconstructive group, flow diversion carries a higher level of complete occlusion and similar clinical outcomes.

Endovascular management of intracranial blister aneurysms: spectrum and limitations of contemporary techniques
Conclusion This series highlights both the spectrum and limitations of endovascular techniques currently used to treat blister aneurysms, including a novel application of stent-assisted Onyx embolization. Long-term follow-up and experience in larger studies are required to better define the role of endovascular therapy in the management of these difficult lesions.

Treatment of ruptured complex and large/giant ruptured cerebral aneurysms by acute coiling followed by staged flow diversion.
CONCLUSIONS Staged treatment of ruptured complex and giant intracranial aneurysms with coiling in the acute phase and flow-diverter treatment following recovery from SAH is both safe and effective. In this series, no cases of rebleeding occurred during the interval between coiling and flow diversion. Anatomical results, rebleeding and factors that affect the degree of occlusion in ruptured cerebral aneurysms after endovascular therapy
Conclusions Embolized aneurysms can develop a worse degree of closure even when the initial occlusion is complete. The degree of occlusion depends directly on morphological factors and the use of balloon-assisted techniques. The recanalization rate at mid-term depends on the size of the aneurysm and probably on the density of the packing achieved with the initial treatment.

Elderly patients with intracranial aneurysms have higher quality of life after coil embolization: a decision analysis
Conclusions As life expectancy increases, treatment of cerebral aneurysms in the elderly becomes more important. Given the results of this decision analysis and the continuous refinement in endovascular technology, embolization should strongly be considered as a first-line treatment for cerebral aneurysms in the elderly.

Extensive stretching of intracranial aneurysm coil causing TIAs
A 58-year-old man with a history of ruptured posterior cerebral artery aneurysm, repaired with coil embolization 5 years previously, presented with right hemi-numbness lasting 30 minutes. Cerebral MRI did not reveal acute stroke. Cerebral vasospasm patterns following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: an angiographic study comparing coils with clips
Conclusions Patients with aSAH treated by endovascular coiling and surgical clipping demonstrate distinct vasospasm patterns. While both initially exhibit perianeurysmal spasm, patients treated by coiling go on to develop stepwise progression distally over time. This finding may reflect dispersion of blood breakdown products along preserved CSF egress pathways in patients treated by endovascular coiling.

Endovascular treatment of acute intracranial vertebral artery dissection: long-term follow-up results of internal trapping and reconstructive treatment using coils and stents
Conclusions This study suggests that internal trapping is a stable and effective treatment for acute VAD. Reconstructive treatment using stent and coils could also be a feasible alternative modality for hemorrhagic type VAD. However, serial DSA follow-up is essential.

Treatment of Ruptured Anterior Communicating Artery Aneurysms: Equipoise in the Endovascular Era?
CONCLUSION: Ruptured ACoA aneurysms, regardless of size and projection, were safely treated by both treatment modalities in a large-scale randomized clinical trial. Microembolism after endovascular coiling of unruptured cerebral aneurysms: incidence and risk factors.
CONCLUSIONS The incidence of microembolism after endovascular coiling of UIA was not low. Lesions occurred more frequently in patients with vascular status associated with old age, diabetes, and previous stroke.
