Single trans ‐septal access technique for left atrial intracardiac echocardiography to guide left atrial appendage closure
ConclusionsThis initial experience suggests that LAA occlusion with the Amplatzer Amulet device using ICE guidance from the left atrium via a single trans‐septal technique is feasible and safe.

Conclusion: Our patient had no significant change in mPAP facing oxygen-induced decrease in PVR. Instead, there was a marked increase in RV CO explainable only by an increase in RV SV facing decreased RV afterload, as HR decreased with oxygen. These findings are consistent with the patient’s class 1 exercise capacity despite having severe PH, indicating an ability to increase CO with activity and suggesting a positive response to medications and better prognosis. Clinical and procedural outcomes with the SAPIEN 3 versus the SAPIEN XT prosthetic valves in transcatheter aortic valve replacement: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsPatients receiving the S3V had lower risk of PVL, MVC, bleeding, mortality, and stroke. PPI was somewhat higher in the S3V group. S3V implantation was faster and used less contrast.

Prognostic value of hemodynamics following treatment initiation in pulmonary arterial hypertension
Conclusions: Stroke volume index and right atrial pressure at first follow-up catheterization were the best hemodynamic predictors of death or transplantation. These variables should be further validated as treatment targets in a prospective study.

Longitudinal cardiac changes in a SUGEN/Hypoxic Rat Model of Pulmonary Hypertension determined by Cardiac MRI
Conclusion: 5 weeks of SuHx resulted in RV dysfunction and RV hypertrophy. Although RV systolic pressure remained elevated throughout the 8 week study period, RV dysfunction and RV hypertrophy had improved demonstrating adaptive remodelling of the SuHx rat RV to the induced persistent PH.

Haemodynamic effects of exercise therapy in stable, optimally treated pulmonary arterial hypertension
Conclusions: Provisional results suggest exercise therapy in PAH has a positive effect on the pressure-flow relationship in the pulmonary circulation, leading to reduced stress on the right ventricle on exertion. This change may improve long term outcomes.

Layer ‐specific deformation analysis in severe aortic valve stenosis, primary mitral valve regurgitation, and healthy individuals validated against invasive hemodynamic measurements of heart function
ConclusionLayer‐specific myocardial strain (LSS) patterns differed in patients with severe AS, significant MR, and healthy individuals with highest values in MR. Strain irrespective of layer assessed was associated with LV wall stress but seemed less related to contractility and unrelated to stroke work in the setting of normal LVEF.

Prospective, randomized comparison of 3 ‐dimensional computed tomography guidance versus TEE data for left atrial appendage occlusion (PRO3DLAAO)

Hemodynamic Characteristics in Significant Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Primary Mitral Valve Regurgitation at Rest and During Exercise Valvular Heart Disease
Conclusions— Symptoms in patients with severe mitral valve regurgitation relate to congestion (pulmonary capillary wedge pressure and PAP), but not to peak oxygen consumption, which is determined by forward left ventricular stroke volume. Comparison of single versus dual antiplatelet therapy after TAVR: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionIn this small meta‐analysis of DAPT versus SAPT after TAVR, DAPT did not prevent stroke, myocardial infarction or death while the risk of bleeding was higher. Results from ongoing trials are awaited to determine the best anti‐thrombotic approach after TAVR.

Late Breaking Abstract - Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty for the Treatment of Non Operable Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension - Initial experience of a Belgian Center
Conclusion: In our cohort, we demonstrated that BPA improves most of the haemodynamics variables, including stroke volume index and pulmonary arterial compliance, without severe adverse events. Further studies for the long term efficacy of BPA are required.
