ConclusionA history of maternal stroke increases the risk of hemorrhagic stroke in individuals with type 1 diabetes. Other parental risk factors seem to have limited impact on the risk of stroke.

Retinal microvascular abnormalities and risks of incident stroke and its subtypes: The Circulatory Risk in Communities Study
Conclusion: Retinal microvascular abnormalities were positively associated with the risk of incident stroke in the general Japanese population. Routine retinal photography could provide positive clinical insights into stroke risk stratification independent of blood pressure, antihypertensive medication use, and other risk factors.

Curcumin protects against hypertension aggravated retinal ischemia/reperfusion in a rat stroke model.

Risk factors for ischemic cerebral stroke in patient with acute amaurosis fugax
CONCLUSION: Ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction were diagnosed in 0.3%-0.9% of hospitalized acute AF cases. Borderzone Infarction and Small Vessel Disease in a Sample of Egyptian Stroke Patients: Differences and Similarities
Conclusion: Limb shaking, retinal claudication or syncope, with MRI showing rosary pattern of white matter hyperintensity, few microbleeds and markedly impaired perfusion favor the diagnosis of borderzone infarctions. On the other hand, presence of lacunae, FLAIR showing symmetrical WMH and microbleeds with minimal or no perfusion deficit suggests the diagnosis of small vessel disease.
