The association between HDL ‐C and stroke in the middle‐aged and elderly: A cross‐sectional study
ConclusionWe found a nonlinear relationship between HDL-C and total stroke. Our study reveals a range of inverse associations between HDL-C and stroke (HDL-C<1.55  mmol/L), especially among men and Whites. This finding suggested that maintaining an appropriate HDL-C range may be beneficial in reducing the incidence of stroke.

The PAr index, an indicator reflecting altered vitamin B-6 homeostasis, is associated with long-term risk of stroke in the general population: the Hordaland Health Study (HUSK).
Conclusions: Higher plasma PAr was independently associated with increased risk of incident stroke in all participants and across all subgroups stratified by conventional risk predictors. Our novel findings point to and expand the range of inflammation and immune activation processes that may be relevant for the pathogenesis and prevention of stroke. Association and mediating mechanism between remnant cholesterol and first-ever stroke among the Chinese general population
CONCLUSION: High RC increased the risk of first-ever stroke in the Chinese general population without previous stroke and myocardial infarction, partially through the pathway of hypertension. Plasma selenium and the risk of first stroke in adults with hypertension: a secondary analysis of the China Stroke Primary Prevention Trial

Human cytomegalovirus infection is associated with stroke in women: the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 1999-2004
Conclusions We found a strong association between HCMV and stroke in women from the nationally representative population-based survey. This provide additional motivation for undertaking the difficult challenge to reduce the prevalence of stroke.

Correlation between dietary selenium intake and stroke in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2003-2018
CONCLUSIONS: Dietary selenium had a negative and non-linear correlation with the risk of stroke in adults. Higher systemic immune-inflammation index and systemic inflammation response index levels are associated with stroke prevalence in the asthmatic population: a cross-sectional analysis of the NHANES 1999-2018
ConclusionIn asthmatics, higher levels of SII and SIRI significantly increased the prevalence of stroke, with its association being more pronounced in individuals with coexisting obesity and hyperlipidaemia. SII and SIRI are relatively stable novel inflammatory markers in the asthmatic population, with SIRI having a better predictive value for stroke prevalence than SII.
