The predictive role of CHA2DS2–VASc score between venous thromboembolism and ischemic stroke: a large-scale cohort study
Conclusion: Our study is the first to concern the performance of CHA2DS2–VASc score in predicting the risk of ischemic stroke in VTE patients and the risk of VTE in ischemic stroke patients. Nevertheless, the performance of the score was modest, and the transportability of the score in these populations still needs to be defined.

Underutilization of warfarin for stroke prophylaxis in patients with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter in Korea.
CONCLUSIONS: A high portion of AF/AFL patients with CHADS2 score ≥2 were undertreated with warfarin. Age Threshold for Increased Stroke Risk Among Patients With Atrial Fibrillation A Nationwide Cohort Study From Taiwan

Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers and the risk of major adverse cardiac events in patients with diabetes and prior stroke: a nationwide study
Conclusion: Our study supports the hypothesis that the risks of MACEs and two additional secondary outcomes in patients with diabetes who survived ischemic stroke did not differ according to ACEI versus ARB use.

Hysterectomy in young women associates with higher risk of stroke: A nationwide cohort study
Conclusions: Categorized by the patients' age at operation, the associations between hysterectomy and the risk of stroke were different. The excess risk of stroke was observed in women who had hysterectomy before 45years and remained significant even after accounting for baseline cardiovascular risk factors.

Should Atrial Fibrillation Patients With 1 Additional Risk Factor of the CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc Score (Beyond Sex) Receive Oral Anticoagulation?
ConclusionsNot all risk factors in CHA2DS2-VASc score carry an equal risk, with age 65 to 74 years associated with the highest stroke rate. Oral anticoagulation should be considered for AF patients with 1 additional stroke risk factor given their high risk of ischemic stroke.
