Management of hemichorea hemiballismus syndrome in an acute palliative care setting
We describe a case of HCHB presenting to a palliative care setting. A 63-year-old diabetic and hypertensive lady, with history of ovarian cancer presented to Palliative Medicine outpatient clinic with two days history of right HCHB. Blood investigations and brain imaging showed high blood sugar levels and lacunar subcortical stroke. Blood sugar levels were controlled with human insulin and Aspirin. Clopidogrel and Atorvastatin were prescribed for the management of lacunar stroke. A rare cause of headache-the importance of a tissue diagnosis and perseverance
A 64 year old diabetic hypertensive milkman presented in September 2011 with 4 months progressive constant right frontotemporal retro–orbital pain. Effects of Acupuncture on Neuropathic Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (P3.306)
CONCLUSIONS: The majority of trials demonstrate a positive effect of acupuncture over control condition in the treatment of neuropathy. Influence of non-cardiac comorbidities on outcome after percutaneous mitral valve repair: results from the German transcatheter mitral valve interventions (TRAMI) registry
Conclusions
MitraClip device placement is feasible and safe in patients with multiple non-cardiac comorbidities resulting in a significant clinical improvement and acceptable intrahospital and 30-day event rates. Renal failure is an independent predictor of outcome.

Risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus in female breast cancer patients treated with morphine: a retrospective population-based time-dependent cohort study
A key element of the palliative care of cancer patients is the management of chronic pain [1]. Opioids continue to be a mainstay in the management of cancer pain in all treatment guidelines [2], and morphine is regarded as the “gold standard” [3–6]. Considered as broad-spectrum analgesics, opioids have multiple side effects and potential complications [7]. Our previous studies indicated that morphine treatment is associated with subdural hemorrhage [8], pulmonary embolism [9], and acute coronary syndrome [10] in cancer patients, as well as increased stroke incidence in prostate cancer patients [11].

Development of an indicator set for the evaluation of the population-based integrated healthcare model 'Gesundes Kinzigtal' (Healthy Kinzigtal).
CONCLUSION: On the basis of a broadly based research and participatory development process, a set of indicators has been developed that enables comprehensive evaluation of the regional quality of care of cross-indication, integrated care models focusing on common diseases. In order to be able to increasingly evaluate aspects of care coordination and patient orientation, health promotion as well as nursing, palliative and emergency care in the future, it would be helpful if routine data were collected or made accessible in these areas as well.

Effective chemotherapy and targeted therapy supplemented with stereotactic radiotherapy of a patient with metastatic colon cancer following renal transplantation: a case report
ConclusionsSince information is scarce regarding oncological treatment of patients following organ transplantation, data about their oncological treatment is essential. To our knowledge, this is the first case report to describe the successful chemotherapy and targeted therapy supplemented with stereotactic radiotherapy of a posttransplant patient with metastatic colorectal cancer.

Tube feeding in patients with dementia is associated with a longer palliative care unit stay
CONCLUSION: The present study showed that, in patients with an established diagnosis of dementia, TF is common and independently associated with a longer length of PCU stay.
