Neuroprotective Effects of a Cardioplegic Combination (Adenosine, Lidocaine, and Magnesium) in an Ischemic Stroke Model
We examined the effects of low-dose ALM on ischemic stroke in cell and animal models. Cobalt chloride (CoCl2) –treated SH-SY5Y cells were used as a surrogate model to mimic oxygen–glucose deprivation conditions. The cells were incubated with different dilutions of ALM authentic solution (1.0 mM adenosine, 2.0 mM lidocaine, and5 mM MgSO4 in Earle’s balanced salt solution). Circular RNA circPRDX3 mediates neuronal survival apoptosis in ischemic stroke by targeting miR-641 and NPR3

Preconditioning With Intermittent Hypobaric Hypoxia Attenuates Stroke Damage and Modulates Endocytosis in Residual Neurons
Conclusions: Intermittent hypobaric hypoxia preconditioning exerts a neuroprotective effect in a rat stroke model. Persistent hypobaric hypoxia stimulation exhibited no significant neuroprotective effect. Intermittent hypoxic preconditioning for 6 h/day for 10 days upregulates key proteins in clathrin-dependent endocytosis of neurons in the cortex.

Genistein attenuates brain damage induced by transient cerebral ischemia through up-regulation of Nrf2 expression in ovariectomized rats.
In this study, ovariectomized rats were treated with genistein (10 mg/kg) or vehicle daily for two weeks before they received middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and reperfusion. After 72 hours of reperfusion, the neurological function was evaluated by Garcia test, infarct volume was detected by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining, and neuronal damage was detected by Nissl staining.
