Related Factors of Cerebral Hemorrhage after Cerebral Infarction and the Effect of Atorvastatin Combined with Intensive Nursing Care
CONCLUSION: Patients with hypertension, large infarction lesions, high NIHSS score at admission, atrial fibrillation, and small artery occlusion cerebral infarction can increase the risk of bleeding transformation in patients with cerebral infarction. For patients with bleeding transformation, atorvastatin calcium tablets combined with early intensive nursing intervention has a certain value for improving the prognosis of patients.PMID:35959354 | PMC:PMC9357761 | DOI:10.1155/2022/9546006

Standard-Dose Atorvastatin Treatment in Patients With Symptomatic Middle Cerebral Artery Atherosclerotic Stenosis: A Vessel Wall Magnetic Resonance Imaging Study
Conclusion: Vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging could accurately characterize changes in MCA plaques after lipid-lowering therapy. Standard-dose atorvastatin treatment could stabilize and reverse plaques in northern Chinese patients with SMAS.

Basilar dolichoectasia with intermural hematoma accompanied by cerebral microbleeds and white matter hyperintensities: A case report
Rationale: The clinical manifestations of basilar dolichoectasia (BD) are variable. The diagnosis is based on imaging measurements. Digital subtraction angiography displays only the dilated vascular lumen and lacks visualization of the arterial wall. High-resolution Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can identify intramural hematoma; therefore, it may be more suitable for the imaging evaluation of BD. However, most of the existing literature pertaining to BD lacks vascular wall assessment. Patient concerns: A 65-year-old Chinese man perceived weakness of the left upper and lower limb, double vision, dizziness, nau...

Effects of High Dose of Atorvastatin for Preventing Periprocedural Ischemic Brain Damage in Patients Undergoing Carotid Artery Stenting (PICAS) in China: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
This study is the first to assess whether high-dose atorvastatin treatment is capable of reducing the incidence of perioperative cerebral ischemic injury in patients of Chinese ethnicity undergoing CAS. These results will offer evidence regarding which statin treatment regimens are more appropriate when treating Chinese patients undergoing CAS in an effort to minimize their risk of any perioperative cerebral ischemic injury.Trial Registration:ClinicalTrials.gov NCT03079115; registered March 14, 2017.

Safety and Efficacy of the C-117 Formula for Vulnerable Carotid Artery Plaques (Spchim): A Randomized Double-Blind Controlled Pilot Study.
Conclusion: The C-117 formula may be antiatherosclerotic by strengthening statins to reduce the low-density lipoprotein levels and reducing the carotid plaque Crouse scores. Clinical trials with large sample sizes, long-term interventions, and follow-up are needed to investigate the efficacy of the C-117 formula. Clinical Trials Registration: This trial is registered with clinicaltrials.gov identifier: NCT03072225 (registered retrospectively on 1st March 2017). PMID: 31391862 [PubMed]

Preventable Cases of Oral Anticoagulant-Induced Bleeding: Data From the Spontaneous Reporting System
Conclusion: Our findings describe the most reported risk factors for preventability of oral anticoagulant-induced bleedings. These factors may be useful for targeting interventions to improve pharmacovigilance activities in our regional territory and to reduce the burden of medication errors and inappropriate prescription. Introduction Oral anticoagulant therapy is widely used for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation, or for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (Raj et al., 1994; Monaco et al., 2017). Oral anticoagulants can be di...

Polymorphisms in CYP450 Genes and the Therapeutic Effect of Atorvastatin on Ischemic Stroke: A Retrospective Cohort Study in Chinese Population.
Abstract PURPOSE: Ischemic stroke (IS) is one of the most common neurologic diseases and is the main cause of death and disability in the Chinese population. This retrospective cohort study was performed to elucidate the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in cytochrome P450 genes and the therapeutic effect of atorvastatin. METHODS: A total of 192 cases of IS were enrolled in the study. All patients were treated with atorvastatin, and their lipid levels and proportions were measured. Six SNPs in 4 cytochrome P450 genes (CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP3A4, and CYP4F2) related to drug metabolism we...

Association between the   TIMD4-HAVCR1 variants and serum lipid levels, coronary heart disease and ischemic stroke risk and atorvastatin lipid-lowering efficacy.
This study aimed to determine the TIMD4-HAVCR1 variants, their haplotypes and gene-environment interactions on serum lipid levels, the risk of CHD and IS, and the lipid-lowering efficacy of atorvastatin in a southern Chinese Han population. Genotypes of 3 variants in 622 controls, 579 CHD and 546 IS patients were determined by the Snapshot technology. Atorvastatin calcium tablet (20 mg/d) was given in 724 hyperlipidemic patients for 8 weeks after genotyping. The rs12522248 genotypic and allelic frequencies were different between controls and patients, and were associated with the risk of CHD and IS. The rs1501908G-rs125222...
