Discrepancies between current and ideal endovascular stroke treatment practice in Europe and North America: Results from UNMASK EVT, a multidisciplinary survey.
CONCLUSION: In the majority of North American states/provinces and European countries covered in this study, the discrepancy between endovascular therapy decisions under current local resources and assumed ideal conditions seems to be small, even in countries with a limited economic status and healthcare infrastructure.

ConclusionsSuboptimal diet of 10 dietary factors accounts for 18.2% of all ischemic heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes costs in the US, highlighting that timely implementation of diet policies could address these health and economic burdens.

Integration of Real-Time Electronic Health Records and Wireless Technology in a Mobile Stroke Unit
Background: UCHealth's Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) at University of Colorado Hospital is an ambulance equipped with a computed tomography (CT) scanner and tele-stroke capabilities that began clinical operation in Aurora, Colorado January 2016. As one of the first MSU's in the United States, it was necessary to design unique and dynamic information technology infrastructure. This includes high-speed cellular connectivity, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance, cloud-based and remote access to electronic medical records (EMR), and reliable and rapid image transfer.

Prevalence of atrial fibrillation in hospital encounters with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on home oxygen: National trends in the United States.
CONCLUSION: AF prevalence in hospital encounters with end-stage COPD increased from 2003 to 2014. Better management strategies for end-stage COPD patients comorbid with AF are needed, especially in elderly individuals.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Patients with Sickle Cell Disease: A Population-Based Longitudinal Analysis of Three Cohorts
ConclusionWe present evidence describing the prevalence of T2DM in patients with SCD both in a commercially-insured population and from an institution-based clinical cohort. These findings were similar to a general African American population with an increasing trend in T2DM over recent years.
