Poor clinical outcome despite successful basilar occlusion recanalization in the early time window: incidence and predictors
Conclusions Early successful reperfusion with EVT occurred in 80.5% of patients, and the only treatment-related factor predictive of clinical outcome was first pass mTICI 2b-3 reperfusion. Further research is warranted to identify the optimal techniques and devices associated with first pass reperfusion in the posterior circulation.

Sex differences in stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation in French primary care. Results of the AFIGP (Atrial Fibrillation In General Practice) Database
Conclusions Most AF patients followed by French GPs required stroke prevention according to European guidelines, but many of them did not receive the recommended antithrombotic treatment. Women over 75 were a third less likely to be treated with recommended anticoagulants than men of similar age.

Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Closure Is a Reasonable Option for Patients With Atrial Fibrillation at High Risk for Cerebrovascular Events New Techniques
Conclusions— This nationwide prospective registry shows that, in the French population, LAA closure is mainly used in patients with high comorbidity rates and a poor prognosis. LAA closure in such patients seems reasonable to decrease the stroke rate. The overall health status of these patients should be taken into account during the preprocedural evaluation process. Botuloscope: 1-year follow-up of upper-limb post-stroke spasticity treated with botulinum toxin
Conclusion. This is the first long-term follow-up of BoNT-A treatment for upper-limb spasticity involving a large cohort independent of industry. Quality of life was improved by treating upper-limb spasticity with BoNT-A, even at 5 years post-stroke. Personalizing objectives of the treatment amplified its efficacy. BoNT-A was a powerful analgesic when pain was spasticity-related. Treating the spastic upper limb also improved balance and gait abilities.

Association Between Fatigue and Cognitive Impairment at 6 Months in Patients With Ischemic Stroke Treated With Acute Revascularization Therapy
Background: Fatigue is a frequent symptom after stroke. We aimed to determine the association between fatigue and cognitive performance in patients with ischemic stroke who received acute revascularization therapy (IV thrombolysis and/or mechanical thrombectomy). Methods: Seventy patients were prospectively included in the stroke unit of the University Hospital of Dijon, France. A follow-up was performed at 6 months with clinical examination, fatigue assessment by the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), and a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation. Patients with fatigue (FSS score> 4) were compared with patients without fa...

Economic challenges of using innovative medical devices in major public health pathologies: Example of acute ischemic stroke management by mechanical thrombectomy.
CONCLUSION: The time required to evaluate MD reimbursement files is too long compared to their development. As a result, practitioners are in difficulty to be able to carry out acts according to the consensual practices of their learned societies, without causing any financial deficit of their institutions.
