ConclusionPoor adherence to NOACs is associated with increased risks of thromboembolism and all-cause mortality. The minimal adherence threshold should be ≥ 90%, preferably even ≥ 95%.

Mechanical thrombectomy is cost-effective versus medical management alone around Europe in patients with low ASPECTS
Conclusions MT is efficient versus MM alone for patients with low ASPECTS in eight countries across Europe. Patients with a large ischemic core could be treated with MT because it is both clinically beneficial and economically sustainable.

Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy Including Lower Extremities (HABIT-ILE) in adults with chronic stroke: protocol of a randomised controlled trial

Inappropriate Combined Antiplatelet and Anticoagulant Therapy in Older Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: Trend over Time (2009 –18)
ConclusionsWhile inappropriate combined antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy has declined over the last decade, there is still room for improvement. Antiplatelet deprescribing should be considered in all patients with inappropriate combined antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy, including those with vascular disease and no recent cardiovascular event.

Long-term comparative effectiveness and safety of dabigatran, rivaroxaban, apixaban and edoxaban in patients with atrial fibrillation: A nationwide cohort study
Conclusion: NOACs had better long-term risk-benefit profiles than VKAs. While effectiveness was comparable, apixaban was overall associated with a more favorable safety profile followed by dabigatran.

Multicentric validation of a reduced features case-mix set for predicting functional outcome after ischemic stroke in Belgium

CONCLUSIONS: Long-term exposure to PM2.5, NO2, and BC was positively associated with natural-cause and cause-specific mortality in the pooled cohort and the administrative cohorts. Associations were found well below current limit values and guidelines for PM2.5 and NO2. ConclusionsInappropriate NOAC dosing is present in almost twenty percent of AF patients according to the SmPC and requires further education of health care professionals and frequent reassessment of NOAC dosing. However, a significant lower prevalence of underdosing was present when judged by the 2018 EHRA criteria, likely reflecting decision making in complex AF patients. Perceived frailty, weight, renal function and type of NOAC are the main determinants of deviated dosing.
