This study has investigated the kinematic features of progressive micrographia during a repetitive writing task. Twenty-four PD patients with duration since diagnosis of <10 years and 24 age-matched controls wrote the letter “e” repeatedly. Discussion – conclusion Participation and satisfaction rates for patients and caregivers show that TEP has met their expectations. A clear positioning is defined for the caregiver, target of TEP on CBD. Measured burden is low, but Zarit scale may reduce the objective component of burden. Awareness of CBD and decrease in anosognosia may explain the lack of improvement in the quality of life measured by EuroQol. SVIN announces 'Stroke: Mission thrombectomy 2020'
(Lazar Partners LTD) The Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) announced the launch of Mission Thrombectomy 2020, an initiative to enhance global efforts to improve stroke care worldwide by increasing the rate of stroke thrombectomy for eligible patients from less than 100,000 procedures today to 202,000 annually by 2020 and thereby reducing global stroke disability. The initiative was unveiled at the SVIN 9th Annual Meeting and 4th Annual Stroke Center Workshop, which took place from Nov.16-19, 2016 in Brooklyn, New York.

Development of a computerised decision aid for thrombolysis in acute stroke care
Conclusions: Our structured development process led to the development of a gamma prototype computerised decision aid. Initial evaluation has demonstrated reasonable acceptability of COMPASS amongst patients, relatives and clinicians. The impact of COMPASS on clinical outcomes requires wider prospective evaluation in clinical settings.

Abstract 267: Improving Inpatient Stroke Care by Implementing Stroke Units Across Health Systems Using an Improvement Collaborative Approach Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusions: This inter-provincial Quality Improvement Collaborative was successful in implementing and improving stroke units, and in improving best practice care of inpatient stroke patients. Critical success factors include the engagement of faculty from high-performing centers even if they exist outside the jurisdiction where improvement is sought, and the use of the 7-step framework for implementing stroke units.
