AbstractDabigatran etexilate is an oral direct thrombin (Factor IIa) inhibitor approved for patients with atrial fibrillation and for management of risk of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Dabigatran offers advantages over treatment with warfarin, including limited laboratory monitoring. Endovascular therapy for hemodialysis patients with atrial fibrillation and cerebral thromboembolism: A case series.
CONCLUSION: In this series, endovascular therapy showed good results without complications. More cases should be investigated to obtain more evidence of successful endovascular therapy for hemodialysis patients.

Long-term clinical outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention to treat long lesions in hemodialysis patients in the era of second-generation drug-eluting stents.
CONCLUSIONS: Clinical outcomes of PCI for long lesions in hemodialysis patients were similar to that of non-long lesions. Long-stenting in hemodialysis patients, who were considered high-risk subset of adverse cardiovascular events, might be acceptable in the second-generation DES era.

Does renal function have incremental predictive value of stroke in atrial fibrillation?
It is well known that both atrial fibrillation (AF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are respectively independent predictors of stroke and systemic thromboembolism. A number of epidemiological and observational studies have shown that there are close relationships between AF and CKD [1 –3]. Indeed, the prevalence of AF increases from non-CKD to CKD stages of 1 to 2, 3 and 4 to 5 by 1.0%, 2.8%, 2.7%, and 4.2%, respectively [1], and the prevalence is 7% to 27% in patients with end-stage renal disease who are undergoing hemodialysis therapy [2].

A case of cerebral infarction during a hemodialysis procedure successfully treated with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator
We report a case of a 75-year-old HD patient who presented with sudden aphasia during HD treatment. She was brought to the hospital for treatment for infarction. Following thrombolytic therapy, we achieved re-opening without complications. To our knowledge, no report has been published describing the patients who had a stroke during a maintenance HD session and were treated with r-tPA successfully. Clinical Characteristics and Long-Term Outcomes of Rotational Atherectomy - J2T Multicenter Registry.
