Fulminant Extra- And Intracranial Arteriovenous Thrombosis And Non-aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Following COVID-19 Infection
CONCLUSION: A high degree of suspicion for COVID-19 induced coagulopathy leading to extensive non- aneurysmal, non-hemispheric SAH and malignant intracranial hypertension should be entertained. Our experience and previous reports on non-aneurysmal SAH in such patients show a poor prognosis.PMID:37198510

Neurobrucellosis Mimicking Primary CNS Vasculitis--Should We Perform CSF Metagenomics Before Brain Biopsy?: A Case Report
Discussion Brucellosis is an endemic disease in developing countries and may mimic PCNSV. Our patient fulfilled the criteria for possible PCNSV; however, brain biopsy was inconsistent with PCNSV, and CSF mNGS disclosed neurobrucellosis. This case illustrates the importance of CSF mNGS in the differential diagnosis of CNS vasculitis.

Case Report: Interindividual variability and possible role of heterozygous variants in a family with deficiency of adenosine deaminase 2: are all heterozygous born equals?
In conclusion, this familiar case demonstrated the wide range of phenotypic variability in DADA2. The search for ADA2 mutations and the assessment of ADA2 activity should be considered also in patients with the association of hypogammaglobulinemia and inflammatory conditions, also with late presentation and in absence of vasculitis. Furthermore, the clinical picture of the deceased carrier suggests a possible contribution of heterozygous pathogenic variants to inflammation.

Progressive Central Artery Occlusion, Ophthalmic Artery Occlusion, and Hemispheric Intracranial Thrombosis after COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Application: Case Report
Thromboembolic events as a result of COVID-19 mRNA vaccination are a rare, though life-threatening complication. In this case report, we describe a 40-year-old female patient who developed central retinal artery and ophthalmic artery occlusion progressing to intracranial thrombosis 3 weeks after vaccination with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Initially, she presented with progressive acute and painless unilateral vision loss in her left eye. Dilated fundoscopy of left eye showed macular whitening with sparing of the area of cilioretinal artery distribution. Labs revealed a normal erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-re...

Rash, Facial Droop, and Multifocal Intracranial Stenosis Due to Varicella Zoster Virus Vasculitis
Conclusions: Before considering bypass surgery or other invasive neurosurgical procedures, ensure reversible causes of vasculopathy have been ruled out. The presence of cranial neuropathies, rash, and/or elevated inflammatory markers should be red flags for vasculitis in patients presenting with stroke.PMID:37064929 | PMC:PMC10091438 | DOI:10.1177/19418744221150301

For Your Eyes Only: 007 Tips for the Management of Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody-Associated Vasculitis
J Rheumatol. 2023 Apr 15:jrheum.2023-0219. doi: 10.3899/jrheum.2023-0219. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPremature atherosclerosis has been observed during the course of different systemic inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus, and antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV).1-3 As a result, cardiovascular (CV) events, including myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and death, occur 1.65 to 3 times more commonly in patients with AAV as compared to the general population, and the risk appears to be highest in the firs...
