Quantification of retinal ganglion cell loss in patients with homonymous visual field defect due to stroke
ConclusionsReduction of SD-OCT parameters occurs following both ischaemic and haemorrhagic occipital stroke, but it is larger when the injury extends to parietal territories and increases as time since stroke increases. The size of visual field defect is unrelated to SD-OCT measurements. Macular GCC thinning appeared to be more sensitive than pRNFL in detecting retrograde retinal ganglion cell degeneration and its retinotopic pattern in stroke.

Retinal microvascular abnormalities and risks of incident stroke and its subtypes: The Circulatory Risk in Communities Study
Conclusion: Retinal microvascular abnormalities were positively associated with the risk of incident stroke in the general Japanese population. Routine retinal photography could provide positive clinical insights into stroke risk stratification independent of blood pressure, antihypertensive medication use, and other risk factors.

Vascular Reactivity to Hypercapnia Is Impaired in the Cerebral and Retinal Vasculature in the Acute Phase After Experimental Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Conclusion: This study provides a detailed temporal analysis of impaired cerebral vascular CO2 reactivity starting immediately after SAH and lasting up to 6 h. Importantly, the retinal vessels participate in these acute changes underscoring the promising role of the retina as a potential non-invasive screening tool after SAH. Further studies will be required to determine the correlation with functional outcomes.

Intraplaque CTA characteristics as predictors of symptomatology: a semiautomated volumetric analysis
ConclusionHigher volumes of intraplaque IPH, LRNC, matrix, and degree of arterial stenosis are associated with ipsilateral neurologic symptoms. Greater intraplaque proportions of LRNC are also associated with ipsilateral ischemic manifestations, suggesting that larger relative composition of lipids may be particularly predictive of symptomatology.

Peptide5 attenuates rtPA related brain microvascular endothelial cells reperfusion injury via the Wnt/ β-catenin signalling pathway
CONCLUSION: This study showed that the application of peptide5 maintained cell viability and permeability associated with rtPA treatment, revealing a possible pathway that could be exploited to limit rtPA-related endothelial cell injury during ischemic stroke. Furthermore, the altered Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway demonstrated that signaling pathways associated with Cx43 might have potential applications in the future.
