Comparison of Unibody and Non-Unibody Endografts for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair in Medicare Beneficiaries: The SAFE-AAA Study
CONCLUSIONS: In the SAFE-AAA Study, unibody endografts failed to meet noninferiority compared with non-unibody endografts with respect to aortic reintervention, rupture, and mortality. The effect of adding an open distal anastomosis to proximal aneurysm repairs in bicuspid aortopathy
ConclusionWe found no significant inter-group differences in survival, reintervention, or in-hospital complication rates, with low rates of mortality, and aortic arch-related reintervention, suggesting adding open distal anastomosis may not provide benefit in BAV patients undergoing proximal aortic aneurysm repairs.

Consequently, vascular research is of the utmost importance for developing preventive strategies and improving diagnostic test and treatment options for patients with these conditions. Specifically, PAD has had increased research interest as it is the third leading cause of atherosclerotic morbidity.
